Reid to McCain: Hey, Thanks for Killing that Gun Control Filibuster

The Democrats' love affair with Republican John McCain is never ending, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid took things to a whole different level today on the Senate floor. Reid credited and thanked McCain for killing the filibuster threat against any new form of gun control legislation.

"John McCain is a leader."

Youtube - Sen Harry Reid Praises John McCain, Republicans Who Voted for Cloture

Right, John McCain is a leader for doing the politically correct thing of reaching accross the aisle to promote a piece of legislation that would have done nothing to prevent any mass shooting or mass shootings in the future. Congratulations.

As a reminder, the Senate voted 68-31 this morning to proceed with debate on new gun control legislation.

The Democratic leadership has had no better friend than McCain, ever since McCain used the 2008 R nomination to campaign for O, reassuring us at every turn that O was really an OK guy and would make a good President, etc etc etc.

McCain, the communist prisoner of war.
McCain, the enabler for Obama and the communist Democratic leadership.

(Stockholm Syndrome?)

I think John McCain is a conflicted person.

He did good picking Palin. For that I thank him.

That was a long time ago now. I am no longer thanking him.

John McCain is and has always been, an extra democrat. He basked in the glory of succeeding Barry Goldwater and he milked his service in Viet-Nam for all it’s worth but he has been working with the democrats for decades. Then George Bush beat him in 2000 and he went nuts and has been determined to be a thorn in the side of conservatives since, and both the democrat and republican establishments have helped him do so. He relishes being a “power-broker.” He is no leader.

Yes. Palin was (to me, an unexpected and ) interesting choice ... and it helped his ticket (but he blew it anyway, alas).

If he is conflicted, ok but alas his conflicts always seem to send him to the wrong side of important issues.

Time for the good war hero to retire, methinks.

McCain didn't pick Palin his campaign staff did.
He wanted Liberman for his running mate.

The thing that bothers me more is that Palin continues to believe in this fool. It gives me the creeps.

He picked Palin for one reason. He was a “Leftist’s Leftist” and the drubbing he would have received if he hadn’t picked someone like her, was something he was unwilling to face.

Failing McCain actually being a traitor to our nation, he certainly is one to our cause.

and i loathe him for picking her... if only she had finished out one full term of her governorship, and if only she didn't run on a losing ticket--his ticket, she would have had time to prepare... she would have been more ready... ugh! i cannot stand that he chose her too soon... before her time...

I don’t think that is a problem.

Palin is polite. McCain for whatever wrong he has done in life, pulled that young lady out of Alaska and ran with her for the Presidency.

Now that much Palin was grateful for, and owe(d) McCain for roundly.

I think that is rapidly wearing off. She will remain polite to McCain but he’s wildly testing her reserves of polite, I believe.

John ‘Wacko Bird’ McCain is one of the few ultra left wing RINOs who enjoys frequent facetime on that ultimate Obamanation Journalism TV channel, MSNBC.

“John McCain is a leader.”

Actually, John McCain is a failure. Sure, he put the boots to us every time he gets a chance, but he will go to his grave knowing that he wasn’t good enough to realize his greatest dream. Even worse, the fool lost to the likes of Obama.

Yeah, and thanks to the STUPID voters of WVa for getting fooled (easily!) by Manchin.

Don't forget the STUPID folks at NRA/ILA, who gave Munchkin (and some other domestic enemies of the Constitution) an "A" rating and endorsement

The Republican primary voters remain their own worst enemy; all they know to do is to nominate candidates they have “heard of.” And when they didn’t with Lugar, look what happened!
