He sobered up, saw what was really in obamacare, declared it a train wreck and lost core democrat support he would need to be re-elected. He will probably vote for all the gun control legislation as an in your face to all those in Montana he has been having to tell he is moderate or Conservative.

I would not bet on it, from my observation he is running. On the other hand Schweitzer would easily win his seat...

Well, Enzi’s from Wyoming and Montana’s two senate seats are in democrat hands as it is. If a good conservative runs and wins in Montana, and Enzi either retires or is replaced by a conervative in Wyoming, we’ll be ahead of the game.

I’ll be voting for the conservative here in MA next Tuesday (Mike Sullivan). And after what happened here last week, a former prosecutor of terrorists is exactly what we need. Hopefully the people will not be fooled into voting for Marxist Markey. We need to start setting a conservative trend like we did in 2010 with Scott Brown’s election (his later conversion to liberalism notwistanding).

He was going to be primaried as a result of the gun vote, it was going to be bloody and a substantial portion of the Dem base would stay at home on election day.

It just wasn’t worth it to him.

“... and with no clear cut GOP opponent.”

That’s the real problem! The GOP never seems to have a “bench.” Then along comes some backwater GOP congressman with goofy religious convictions and a motor mouth; and voila, a new RAT is born and we get another 37 years of a Baucus minime!

From The Tea Party Express:
We are determined to find 2014's Ted Cruz and Rand Paul!  We are currently driving across the great state of Montana in preparation for the 2014 midterm election.

Adhering to the old axiom "the future belongs to those that prepare for it today," we here at the Tea Party Express are traveling the country, meeting with potential Congressional candidates. If we are going to be successful in defending the House and taking the Senate, we need solid, electable conservative candidates.

We were also in snowy Helena, Montana this afternoon maiking plans for the 2014 election.  The Montana State Capitol is pictured here.

Retaining control of the House of Representatives is critical to the health of our country.  With no re-election to worry about, you can be sure that Obama will try and push his radical agenda through in his last term.  The House of Representatives is our last line of defense and must be defended by the Tea Party!

A number of Moderate Dems have said “nyet” on running in 2014. I suspect they can no longer hold their nose while backing the Marxist agenda.

If you smell a pickup, you need to consider recent MT history in U.S. Senate races. It is not encouraging.

“Isn’t Cheney from up around there?

Is it Montana of Wyoming he’s from?”

Cheney, as has been posted, is from Wyoming.

I live in Montana and have to drive through Wyoming to get to the southern part of my county - Gallatin.

Montana of Wyoming? Wyoming of Montana? Sorta the same thing.

Max is an A-Hole BTW and we’ll be GLAD AS HELL to rid ourselves of him!

“...both were born/raised in Butte Montana...”

Butte did not have a single fast food chain until the mid 80’s - like McDonalds, Wendy's, BK, etc. - due to the immense power of unions in Butte. Think Democrat stronghold.

Still one of the tougher city's in the US.

One advantage next year is that it is not a presidential election. I think a lot of young people are going to stay home who otherwise voted in 2012.

where is Liz Cheney on marriage given their daughter’s “preferences”.

I think we can do better. We don’t need another devolution to hedonism epiphany.

Cheney (Liz’s dad) supports gay marriage but has long said the states should decide. I don’t know where Liz stands, but my best guess is that she will take the same stand.

Democrats will simply run someone who supports Obamacare in practice while denying to have voted for it to give their dimwit voters some reason to withhold retribution while doing nothing to correct the problem.

Its going to be a tough fight assiming we can get someone half decent to run. If its like the South Carolina Race where the GOP picks a discrased dimwit were screwed.
