Mayor Bloomberg Expected To Sign E-Bike Ban Dirt Bikes Also To Be Banned From NYC Streets April 26, 2013 10:54 AM
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Mayor Michael Bloomberg is expected to sign a new law banning the e-bike, which some say is fastand dangerous.
The City Council passed the legislation on Thursday.
The bikes are often used by delivery people and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn said the new law plugs loopholes and totally bans electric bikes from the streets of New York.

The easier list to compile would be *what didn’t he ban this week*?
About 5 years ago I drove a yellow cab in NYC in between jobs for extra cash, 12 hours a day 6 days a week, and in all that time not ONCE did I ever see an E-bike hit anyone, have an accident, or be involved in anything resembling an accident.
But bicycles? CONSTANTLY constantly almost every single day. Bikes hitting people, getting hit by cars, oh and the best....slamming into my passenger when they opened the door of the taxi to get out.
And what does Despot constantly promote? Demand people ride? BICYCLES!
It would be very interesting to see the stats on bicycles VS. E bikes when it comes to accidents.
Just ban everything.
OK, so what’s so dangerous about an “e-bike” that isn’t an issue with a motorized or pedal-type bike? Maybe Bloomberg needs to be banned.
To paraphrase a famous commercial....
“Mikey will ban it. Mikey hates everything.”
But little cereal Mikey had a much higher intellect than this current Caesar on the Hudson.
I pray every day for justice in this world. Regardless, I know with a certainty it will be delivered in the next.

I grew up and lived in NYC until last year when I moved out. I couldn’t take it anymore. The final straw was him demanding lists from landlords on all the tenants who smoke in their apartments. I don’t even smoke, but that is Nazi crap. “Send us a list of all the Juden”. Freakin’ libs think we don’t need a 2nd amendment? Tyranny can’t happen here? Exhibit 1A: NYC.
One would think since Doomberg is an environmental Nazi as well, he would actually ban cars and force everyone to drive e-bikes...
It really looks like that what Mayor Bloomberg wants in his city are not citizens but little robots he can play with.
It can happen because as in ancient Israel, the lemmings love a king. By the time they realize what they have done to themselves it’s too late.
According to one eyewitness - too afraid to tell me her name - a buddy of mine was caught by NYPD sitting on an e-bike in Brooklyn eating one of those high-fat burgers and an 18 ounce soft drink. They whisked him away and we haven’t heard from him since. Serves him right, running afoul of the authorities in the Land of the Free.
Oh yes, I forgot to add. I thought e-bikes were on the list of “ecologically sound” means of transportation. Unlike those cars and buses that are “choking” the life out of the city.

The city must also get rid of these awful bike lanes and stupid pedestrian malls which confuse and disrupt traffic like craaaaaaaaazy. NYC is NOT Paris. It is so stupid to have a mall in Times Square!
How about ambulances, firemen and cops trying to get to an emergency? Because of those stupid pedestrian malls and bike lanes traffic is a nightmare and they can’t get through. And Bloomberg had the audacity to bash them for slow response times. LOL One clear thing that sticks out in my mind was a year ago I drove down 7th avenue from Central park and got stuck near Times square for over an hour, traffic was just absolutely insane. And for that whole time, all I heard was an ambulance siren woo wooo woo wooo over and over and over and over just stuck in traffic. He couldn’t get through, cars couldn’t move over. Now what if he had a heart attack victim in that ambulance or was trying to get to someone dying in Times square? That is the real evil behind those malls.
Bicycles are more dangerous than tricycles so you should let Bloomberg ride his tricycle around safely while sipping a 1/2 liter Coke.

Why not just say electric bike instead of making me look it up?
