Just out of curiosity, when did you say this to her? How long ago? I ask because I said they were going after Christians to a friend of mine back when they started taking Chritmas out of Merry Christmas and instead said Happy Holidays. He didn’t believe me.
My mom told me in 1987 or so that at some point the US Government would persecute Christians. I was about 13 or 14 and thought she was off her rocker. She said “No, it is written, the WORLD will persecute Christians, America will not be an exception if the Bible says THE WORLD!” I was like, “Yeah, right Mom” (as I did most things, but this one stuck with me and my teenager attitudey self)
She died in 2002, but she did not live to see her theory was correct.
