The February 17th Martyrs Brigade, a Benghazi-based militia with Islamist elements that the State Department hired as a quick reaction force (QRF) to protect the departments mission in Benghazi, warned the State Department that it would not protect the movements of Amb. Chris Stevens when he visited there last September.
That warning was relayed to the regional security officer (RSO) at the U.S. Embassy in Tripolithe top security adviser to the ambassadorin an internal State Department email dated Sept. 9, 2012.
That was one day before Stevens departed Tripoli for Benghazifor what was scheduled to be a five-day visit.

Only the Obama regime would resort to hiring radical militias known as the “17th Martyrs Brigade” to provide “protection” for our diplomatic mission. An American administration would’ve emplaced U.S. Marines there.
These are the bitter fruits borne when the country elects someone who can’t and won’t ever view any issue through an American perspective
So, our State Department accidentally ordered the quick get-away protection package when we should have bought the Ambassador level?
And then refused to pay for it, or so it seems
I knew they dropped and ran after this started but never read that they told State in advance they would do this, am I wrong? They actually were blamed for leaving during the event. Now we learn they had told us they would leave.
The fact that the militia gave the State Department prior warning that it would not support the ambassadors movements in Benghazi raises new questions about the way the department handled security in Benghazi and its subsequent unwillingness to make department personnel available to congressional committees that are investigating the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack.
The State Departments Accountability Review Board (ARB) report, released on Dec. 18, had revealed that the February 17 militia was no longer protecting the movement of U.S. vehicles in Benghazi at the time of Stevens September visit to the city. But it did not say that this information had been delivered to the regional security officer in Tripoli the day before Stevens traveled to Benghazi.
The “rescue” was a secondary issue. Paying the ransom of the Blind Sheik’s release to the Muslim Brotherhood was the main agenda. It was all setup before he retired for the evening. What went wrong is the mental midgets who were supposed to deliver the Ambassador missed the key point about the effects of smoke breathalyzers, whoops, I mean inhalation.
Stand up Chuck!
The villa in Benghazi was not a "diplomatic mission" just like the church burned down by the military in Waco was not a "compound". The villa was a secret CIA command base being used to transfer captured Libyan weapons to Al Qaeda terrorists in Syria, which they a now using to slaughter Christians.
They couldn't have US security at the villa because it would have let the cat out of the bag.
That is also a good possibility and should be considered.
