I understand Elizabeth Smart is now giving speeches criticizing abstinence education. She feels it made her feel worthless because she was no longer pure. Sad. It wasn't abstinence education that made her feel dirty. It was the filthy old man abusing her.
Our society has taught our daughters to be too “nice”. We need to teach ‘em how to hurt a man who is attacking them(sorry guys: I know you are wincing), scream, kick know that the nice policeman won’t be there for them most of the time.
And never, ever get in a car with your abductor because it is ALL OVER if you do.
As for Elizabeth Smart, why weren’t the hired help, including the perp who abducted her, checked out by the Utah police and FBI? Apparently Mrs. Smart liked to give the indigent work to do around their home as part her charity toward God’s helpless and poor. Well, actually NOT. In this case, it almost got her daughter murdered.
Elizabeth Smart did NOTHING that she has to repent or be ashamed of. She was a victim...but I wish she hadn’t been.
