A second neighbor is coming forward claiming that he was the one to save Amanda Berry from the house where she had been kept for nearly a decade.
Angel Cordero was never mentioned by Charles Ramsey, the entertaining folk hero who has captured the attention of the nation in the wake of the dramatic rescue Monday night.
Cordero, who has his niece Ashley translate for him in interviews, said that he was sitting on a neighbor's porch when they heard some commotion and went to check it out, only to find the woman desperate for help.
'(The neighbor) had told me that there was something going on in the house at the front and we went to go see and all we heard was screaming,' Mr Cordero told Piers Morgan on CNN. 'We saw a hand outside the house that was moving up and down so we went to go check what was going on and she had told me that she had been kidnapped for ten years.
'I kicked the door at the bottom because I was trying to get it open because it was too hard so I got it at the bottom and that's when Amanda ran out of the house.'
The detail of Berry poking her arm out of the locked door matches the description given by Ramsey, who was in the crowd outside of the police station following the rescue of the three young women who Ariel Castro kidnapped years ago.

He is looking for reward money. Money from interviews etc. No blame on him, I would do the same. Looking for proper recognition too but the language barrier kept him from getting it. Maybe he is an illegal??? So kind of camera shy?

For his part, Mr Ramsey didn't mention Mr Cordero by name but did say that when he heard the woman screaming he saw his neighbour run across the street and so he went along to see what was going on.
However in today's media, the first one to get to the cameras is the HERO.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the guy didn’t ham it up in the interviews hoping someone would do a remix on him.
I remember that exact thing happening to the disabled vet who thwarted Sara Jane Moore's attempt on the life of Gerald Ford in San Francisco in 1975. It wasn't fashionable to be outed back then, and the "media" went on a rampage about the guy's purported homosexuality. It caused a major disruption in his life.
All I know is that Ramsey has said “No thank you” to any potential reward money and that the victims should get it.
Actually the original hero did say that what alerted him was the neighbor crossing the street saying he had heard something.
Glad to hear that. Antoine Dodson made enough money off the Bed Intruder song to move his family to a safer neighborhood into a house.
So maybe this guy will do something to better himself with the money he is bound to make over Dead giveaway...because it’s the same guy who has done the remix.
and what struck me was when Charles Ramsay said that this pretty little white girl came out running into the arms of a black man. So he wasn’t near the door when she came out but was some distance away.

If Cordero needs a translator for interviews, how did he understand Amanda Berry when she told him she had been kidnapped for ten years?
