What could prompt two college professors to burn a book? Disagreement with the contents, of course.
Two San Jose State University professors took a picture as they held a match to a book that takes on the idea of global warming, and the photo landed on an official school website until some realized the idea of academics burning books is not exactly scholarly. The image depicted Alison Bridger, a professor and chairwoman of the university’s department of meteorology and climate science, holding a lit match beneath “The Mad, Mad, Mad World of Climatism: Mankind and Climate Change Mania” as the 312-page paperback was held by assistant professor Craig Clements.

When are we going to stop calling the Nazis "liberals"? They are about as "liberal" as Auschwitz. They are tyrants. Can we at least call them Socialists?

There is nothing surprising about socialists burning books. To my knowledge, they are the only ones that have ever organized events to burn books.
Tomorrow May 10 will be the 80th anniversary of the book burning by the Nazis.
It's San Jose State. They're not known for their "scholars" in the first place. I attended Stan State. At that time San Jose State was where you went if you wanted to get stoned or to get a STD. You didn't go there for the education.

I’m guessing they never actually set the book on fire. They’re inside, the guy is holding the book in his hand, above a lit match, above a table, and there’s nowhere to safely put the book down if it were on fire.
If you change it to Statists, then I'll agree. Even "The Church" used to burn books (and burn Christians - re: Fox's Book of Martyrs).
Since when does a liberal care about unintended consequences? Look at their pictures behind then of their previous book burning parties....
