I'm perfectly happy to let JCP go bankrupt and serve as a small reminder to other stores, that regular boring non-gay moms do most of the shopping. We look for quality and savings. And we don't want to take style tips from Ellen.

Retailer J.C. Penney has released a Father's Day print ad featuring a real-life same-sex couple. The ad features Todd Koch and Cooper Smith hugging their two young children. The copy reads, "What makes Dad so cool? He's the swim coach, tent maker, best friend, bike fixer and hug giver -- all rolled into one. Or two." Or, quoting from the article "Irrelevant Homophobes Newly Enraged Over JC Penney Ad":
. . . two nice lesbians named Wendi and her partner Maggie and their daughters.
Apparently, those who do not wish to identify with JC Penney's politics are not as irrelevant as was assumed.

Yeah, those pictures of those ad’s, drove me away from my traditional buying standard of going to JCP. Those days are over. I wish them well as they all find new jobs and I hope that the crash and burn helps other companies to realize that they need to MARKET with a purpose other than promoting their version of civil unions.
