Same in New Hampshire, you don't need a license for Open Carry and but you need one for Concealed, getting in the car and closing the door counts as Concealed.

Texas has to opposite rule, you can carry Concealed (with license) but if anyone happens to see it, you can get in trouble. I think that's nuts.

NH tried to change it to constitutional carry but the Senate killed that bill back in May 2012. The Gov had threatened to veto it anyway.

Va is the same with showing a concealed weapon, but thankfully we don’t need a permit to carry loaded in a vehicle’s console or glove box.
