Louie Gohmert Fumes: If Not For John McCain ‘Benghazi Would Not Have Happened’
Mediaite ^ | 05/31/13 | Evan McMurry

Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert has unearthed a new culprit in the Benghazi saga: fellow Republican John McCain.

Conservative radio host Frank Gaffney asked Gohmert to comment on McCain’s “hobnobbing with jihadists” during his recent trip to Syria. Gohmert brought up a similar trip of McCain’s to Libya, where he feels McCain’s policy to depose Muammar Gaddafi unleashed the Muslim extremist forces that later attacked the American Consulate in Benghazi.

McCain is the master of the self-defeating photo op. First he does that stupid suspend his campaign thing in 2008. Now he poses for pics with jihadists in Syria. He’s not senile; he was born stupid. Brave, but fundamentally dumb.

I dislike McCain as much as most here, but ascribing blame to him on this one is just crazy.

The administration ignored the pleadings of its own ambassador to beef up security, someone made the order to stand down rather than try to rescue them, then they made up this bs story about some video being the reason rather than flat out Islamic terrorism.

McCain has done a lot of stupid and wretched things, but had nothing to do with this.

Gohmert needs to learn when not to open his mouth.

John McCain has a really bad habit if sticking his stupid nose where it doesn’t belong.

He did that in Lybia, and he’s doing it again in Syria.

McCain isn’t solely responsible foe Benghazi, but he shares blame in it.

We have no intersts in this countries whatsoever.

I really don't see how he shares ANY blame for not increasing security as the ambassador asked for, I doubt he even knew there was such a request.

I know for sure he did not give the order to stand down, that's simply not possible. I'm not sure he even knew about the firefight, only the CIC and the military involved would have known (and that within half an hour).

And that pesky video story, clearly a talking point from the administration after their failure to do what should have been done.

Sorry, McCain can be blamed for lots of stuff, but Benghazi?

No way.

That’s fine if that’s your opinion.

My opinion is different.

We never had any business in Lybia, and we don’t have a business in Syria.

Why is John McCain in Syria having his picture taken with terrorists?

If the terrorists in Syria that the us government is now arming kill anyone at all with those us weapons, does John McCain share any blame in that killing?

Right. John McCain being in Syria this year means he was responsible for what the administration did in Benghazi last year.

Right.

Let's just say, some opinions (yours) about McCain being responsible for what happened are fairly crazy.......actually, it's a lot worse than that, I'm just being nice.

I said he shares blame.

See right here-

“McCain isn’t solely responsible foe Benghazi, but he shares blame in it.”

Where I said he isn’t solely responsible for it, but he shares blame.

Do you see where I said that? It’s right there. Look.

But you can hyperbolize what I said if you think it buttresses your forgiveness of a man who is a corrupt as corrupt can be and most certainly does SHARE BLAME in what happened in Bengahzi as a result of his inability and refusal to judge who our enemies and who are friends are, which is a fault clearly visible in everything the man does.

How does he share ANY blame?

That's insane. He didn't ignore the request for more security. He didn't order the stand down.

What are you talking about?

I dislike McCain as much as most here, but I don't blame him for Benghazi, nor do I blame him for the shooting of Trayvon Martin. Is he responsible for that too?

Read the article of the thread that you are currently posting in, stop asking stupid questions about Trayvon Martin, and perhaps you’ll have an answer to your question.

When you actually show how he had ANY responsibility for the Benghazi debacle, I'll admit he also had no responsibility for the shooting of Trayvon Martin. The two claims have about the same validity.

The Benghazi debacle had three components: 1. The refusal to send more security when the ambassador asked for it. 2. The inaction of the administration in a time of crisis, INCLUDING THE ORDER TO STAND DOWN. 3. The lying about the video afterwards. Go ahead, show me where McCain screwed up in any of those three, and don't say read the article, show me where.

The congresscritter said something foolish, it doesn't mean you have to continue in the same manner.

Well, Mccain does have bad breath, and his farts no doubt stink, so, yeah, he was responsible for the ben gazzi debacle. ‘Sides, he was a poor candidate for prez, so it makes him double no good. Almost as bad as that -gasp- Mormon.

Why where we ever in Lybia?

What national interests do we have as a country in Lybia?

Maybe we should ask Senator John McCain that very question.

http://weaselzippers.us/2011/03/29/mccain-says-remove-gaddafi-by-any-means-necessary/

“(CBS News) — Sen. John McCain continued to press President Barack Obama for a more forceful strategy to remove Muammar Qaddafi from power in Libya, saying that the U.S. should be willing to use “any means” necessary to accomplish that goal and comparing the current strategy of limited air power combined with diplomatic pressure to the post-Gulf War strategy in Iraq that kept Saddam Hussein in power.

Mr. Obama laid out his case for intervention Monday night, saying that he authorized the use of missile and airstrikes in an international military action to protect civilians from a “massacre.”

However, while the U.S. policy calls for the departure of Qaddafi from power, the president said the U.S. would not be willing to pursue deeper military involvement, such as sending in ground troops, to make that happen.

Instead, the U.S. would support the continued coalition-led no-fly zone in addition to economic sanctions and other diplomatic tools to increase pressure on Qaddafi.”

Do you think that when Senator John McCain said that “the U.S. should be willing to use “any means” necessary to accomplish that goal”, that might have included arming Lybian rebels to overthrow Qadaffi?

Did armed rebels in fact overthrow and then publically kill Qadaffi and drag him through the streets after sodomizing him in a manner very similar to what they did to Chris Stevens?

Is the US currently trying to arm Syrian rebels to overthrow Assad? Is John McCain for that?

Do you think Chris Stevens might have been there on a matter related to arming those rebels?

Do you think Chris Stevens and the three heroes who died defending him might have been killed with those same us provided weapons?

When you get around to answering those questions, you can stop there. I don’t really need you to admit that your hyperbolic and meaningless assertion that McCain was also responsible for the Shooting of Trayvon Martin has no merit, because it’s quite clear to anyone with a brain that it is a hyperbolic and meaningless assertion that has no merit.

Anyhow, see ya later.

I see, one senator made us go into Libya........

Man, what are you smoking?

Sure, his ideas about it were pretty dumb, likewise a lot of others, but that doesn't change the fact: HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT HAPPENED IN BENGHAZI!

Nothing you mentioned comes close to showing he did anything with the three main reasons those people died. Nothing. He also had nothing to do with Trayvon Martin's death, but I'm sure some moonbat could make that same case like what you're trying to do.

No, you haven’t made your case.

You answered none of the questions I posed to you, because you are in denial of the truth.

All you have done is give me your opinion over and over and over.

I see that you absolve him of any responsibility, so do a lot of people. maybe you should move to Arizona and vote for him so he can be around for years and years and years to come.

Unfortunately you should have stopped days ago........

PS - We do have at least one thing in common, neither of us care for or trust john McCain.
