John Kerry Praises New UN Gun Treaty – Could Lead to National Registry

Secretary of State John Kerry welcomed the opening of Arms Trade Treaty for signature today.

The Obama administration plans on signing the treaty “as soon as the process of conforming the official translations is completed satisfactorily.”

The United Nations passed sweeping legislation in April that will regulate the international arms trade and could lead to a national gun registry in the United States.

No wonder Democrats love it!

There’s more… In March the pro-Second Amendment Senate Bill 139 passed 53-46. 46 Democratic Senators voted against the bill which would: “Uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.”

And it doesn’t matter that the Senate will never ratify the treaty.

The Migratory Bird Treaty was never ratified, but we enforce that.

UN Agenda 21 was never ratified after Herbert GW “Daddy” Bush signed it, but it is being implimented nation wide.

This will be implemented to, without any Senate retification.

It has no force of law without the Senate ratifying it and no matter what anyone says... that is the truth. I do not think that they have nearly enough votes to pass it in the Senate.

does the house have to vote also?

"Is THAT why the EPA went on to regulate carbon emissions without authorization!"

I'm not sure what your point is. The EPA action was not enabled in any way by the Kyoto accords.

>>And then there’s the whole ‘getting the people to comply’ problem.

They need to sign the damn thing and then try to enact it through an EO or bureaucratic regulation, so we can get this rebellion thing going before I get too old.

The shooting would start before the court heard the case.

House does not vote on treaties.

Though enabling legislation requires their agreement.

Let’s hope Odumbo is this stupid - to sign an EO which “ratifies” this illegal treaty. At what time does anyone think the lead will begin flying if this happens?

Obastard can do some things by issuing orders to the ATF and FBI, but he can’t order them to ignore the law. As much as he would like to, his signature on the treaty means noting without the votes of 2/3 of the Senate.

This from the same man who said “Reporting for duty” at the convention? And when he was the leader of Vietnam Veterans against the War, discussed assassinating politicians? Left a sick dying woman for a rich widow? When I look in the dictionary under traitor, I see his ugly mug!

Procedure is that first the President signs it, then presents it to the Senate for ratification. If the Senate refuses to ratify it, then the treaty is done for and the US is not a signatory. Now bring on the psychotic bell tower shooters. Something tells me there’ll be another rash of them.

They (the president) can sign wall paper for all I care. Without senate confirmation, the signature is meaningless.

Technically.
But Slick Willy forced us into de facto Kyoto Protocol even though the Senate rejected the treaty through the Byrd–Hagel Resolution 95-0.
Don't let your guard down. Don't trust this admin to abide by the will of the people or the Senate.

That was a federal law, not part of a treaty. In general it has been the policy of the United States to impede the development of systems of armaments by foreign nations. This wasn’t so during the Clinton Regime, and may not be the policy of the Obama regime, but who can ever tell what their polices are.
