Youtube has advertisements, and they could pay the license fees from that income. I don’t know if they do.

It baffles me why the RIAA constantly goes after sites like Piratebay or ISO hunt when Youtube is a million times worse when it comes to making an artists music available for nothing.

Going after YouTube is going after Google. That's probably a lot of the reason.

There is no substitute for winning elections.

from the wikipedia article on Wickard v. Filburn

“Wickard marked the beginning of the U.S. Supreme Court’s total deference to Congress’ claims of Commerce Clause powers. This deference lasted until the 1990s. The Court’s own decision, however, emphasizes the role of the democratic electoral process in confining the abuse of the Congressional power, stating that, “At the beginning Chief Justice Marshall described the Federal commerce power with a breadth never yet exceeded. He made emphatic the embracing and penetrating nature of this power by warning that effective restraints on its exercise must proceed from political rather than from judicial processes.”

When that’s ready, can you PM me the company? I would be happy to give him some business.

This site gives information on the bitrates available from YouTube. Generally speaking, the best audio is available from the highest resolution videos. You can definitely hear the difference when you play a video at the lowest resolution setting.

Of course, the old saying “garbage in, garbage out” certainly applies.
