"Over 50 years ago,as first graders, we played Mublety-peg with our pocket knives at recess I was in 1st grade 50 yrs ago we used to play cops and robbers in the school playground, using our hands as fake guns while the teachers watched over us. And this was a PUBLIC school in daBronx."

Over 50 years ago I played mumblety-peg with jack-knives too. Kids made corn shooters out of clothespins. (Farm country)

Does that school look like a mall? I was in one that was built like a mall, I actually wondered if they did that so the kids would get confused and go to school thinking they were going to a mall.

I went to high school that was a couple of old WWII Army barracks stuck together. Worked just fine.

The parents hsoudl all get togehter in solidarity, give hteir kids poptarts for snacks, and have their kids chew them into an l shape- and the parents shoudl tell the school to stuff it if they don’t like it- PARENTS should be showing ZERO TOLORANCE for the kind of asinine ignorance displayed by their school

Welcome to FR.

In your first post, you said your parents homeschooled you. Now you say you aren’t allowed to visit your teachers from that time period. Why aren’t you allowed to visit your parents?

They always say that you will have a record for the rest of your life. Not true. There is no school record for 7-year olds really. This will be a laugh for later in life. Actually, for most people this is a crazy story that most don’t take seriously. This kid will not suffer for this so called school record he has. In fact, it might just make him a conservative later in life.

How about the locals paying school taxes? Shouldn’t they have a say in how, or even if, this should be handled?

lol. I live in Anne Arundel.....don’t be silly. Folks are just fine with this. They don’t want a future killer. Seriously it is a liberal state and although Anne Arundel is less crazy then the rest of the state, it is at BEST RINO....but maybe a notch lower.

Creepy liberal feeling settled in and was walking on the Main Street in town and gazed up at a beautiful modern building gold raised title lettering Maryland Dept of Education.

Are you sure you were downtown? Department of Education buildings are on Riva Road which is a way from downtown. Perhaps you thought it was downtown but you were at another part of town. Trust me, I can understand getting things messed up as Annapolis is pretty spread out somewhat.

Yes, I am positive.

This was about eight years ago.

Walking up from the bay toward the Capitol bldg. about halfway up the street on the right.

I wasn’t looking for it, was just looking around, and I saw it and thought, what do they need to be near the water for, surrounded by Lilly Pulitzer shops, nautical equipment stores and crab cake restaurants in a beautiful new building.

It is out of control.

I asked a Boy Scout dad a couple of weeks ago, what could they possibly need money for that they are so pressured. They shouldn’t need any outside money for which they are pressured.

There are too many interests, and the kids don’t care about all the stuff, they just want to grow up and be guided into doing so correctly. Well, sometimes they don’t WANT that but they know they need it.

And with 17 trillion in debt and increasing, they’re going to pay for it anyway. It’s not like BO is going to pay for it, or the amnesty takers.

If we asked them for the permission we need to borrow money from them they’d say no way.

They’re not going to like this situation we put them in with our selfish stupid fearful baby boomer attitude of someone else fix this, we’re not responsible.
