In an effort to outfit law enforcement officers who work for the Federal Protective Service (FPS0, DHS has issued a small business set-aside solicitation for a wide variety of personnel protective equipment, including upper body and shoulder protection, thigh-groin protectors, hard shell shin guards, riot helmets, tactical gloves and much more.

The items, quantities and characteristics of the required gear were outlined in a solicitation issued on June 10 by the office of the chief procurement officer at DHS.

Included in that equipment roster, which had to be “Brand Name or Equal,” were:

111 Centurion CPX2500 Soft Shell Riot Control System upper body and shoulder protection, which must “effectively protect the torso and shoulders from blunt force trauma,” the solicitation said.
123 Centurion TPX200 thigh/groin protection systems “designed for blunt trauma protection during riot control situations,” said the solicitation. The gear “protects the thigh area and has an adjustable and removable groin protector.”
110 Hatch TS70 Centurion hard shell shin guards, which must provide “substantial protection from flying debris. Non-ballistic weapons, and blows to the leg.”
189 MaxPro-Police riot helmets, which have a “high impact molded half shell helmet with integral visor and neck protector.”

The protection equipment will be ordered under a one-year base period.....

What if everyone refused to bid? If I were in the business, I wouldn’t bid.

They’re preparing to declare war on natural-born US citizens.

The only good thing about this is that it makes me hopeful that we have a serious group getting ready to defend the constitution and scaring Obama in the process. Hope they are preparing for war so that our side is ready.

They are concerned/ becoming prepared in the event, the population begins to protest or organizes marches of dissent to show the government we do not want this out of control behavior to continue. What else could it be?

Only the complete retards and lowest of LIVs will be able to say they didn’t see the police state coming. Hopefully they’ll be the first to be thrown in the ovens.

Between the guns and ammo and ‘protective gear’, I think that Zippey wants a confrontation,
even if he has to provoke it by ineuendo !

As that great sage Claire Wolf said :
““America is at that awkward stage;
it’s too late to work within the system,
but too early to shoot the bastards.”-—Claire Wolfe

Yep.

“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” Barack Hussein Obama, 7/2/2008
He didn’t call it a Civil Defense force, that would imply he thinks we need (or perhaps deserve) defense.

The official name is the National Civilian Community Corps.

I think of it as the NatCCC, or simply the NatCs...

And what is DHS’s explanation as to why they need this gear, or do they think they do not have to answer to the people or their government?

You know, I have never understood why that didn't cause more of a stir - heck outright panic - than it did. I mean think about it. We have a Military to fight our wars, defend the homeland, take the battle to the enemy overseas etc. So just who is this "civilian national security force" supposed to be up against? If it were foreign invaders, well heck, that's part of the regular Military's purview, that's in their job description. So if not foreigners, then I guess that leaves, well, us. hussein wanted (and no doubt still wants) a force as powerful as our Military (arguably the most powerful one in the world) to use ... against us. Ah, no, thank you hussein, I choose not to live in a police state, subjugated by the likes of you.

Zer0 told us just the other day;

“If people can’t trust not only the executive branch but also don’t trust Congress, and don’t trust federal judges, to make sure that we’re abiding by the Constitution with due process and rule of law, then we’re going to have some problems here.”

Seems as if he's getting ready to back up that threat. Things could get VERY interesting.
