President Obama Criticizes Catholic Education
Catholic Education Daily ^ | June 18, 2013 | Tim Drake

Posted on 06/18/2013 10:22:44 AM PDT by Albion Wilde

During a speech yesterday in Belfast, President Barack Obama criticized Catholic education, suggesting that it’s harmful to national unity.

“If towns remain divided—if Catholics have their schools and buildings and Protestants have theirs, if we can’t see ourselves in one another and fear or resentment are allowed to harden—that too encourages division and discourages cooperation,” said the President, during his Northern Ireland Visit for the G8 summit.

The Scottish Catholic Observer pointed out that Archbishop Gerhard Müller, prefect of the Vatican's Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, recently praised Catholic education before a Scottish audience.

Obama is flat out anti-Christian. He shows it so regularly and so openly these days that his early protestations about being a “christian” are now obvious obfuscations. (They were to me even at the time.) And, he really does seem to have a vendetta against Catholics, in particular.

Education in America is the result of religious institutions, and public institutions butted in on what they had started. The best that could happen is that Americans would en masse seize control of their children’s education in whatever way possible, and the most successful way right now is via parochial schools, a way that the Catholic church has clearly led on the past century or so.

The easiest path to religious education for most parents would be a team of parents conducting joint homeschooling. There are plenty of degreed people in our churches, those churches have classrooms, and donating an hour or two a day to teach/guide a particular subject is not an insurmountable organization problem.

I am not Catholic, but may I humbly admonish that Catholics everywhere fervently jump all over this, and rally your Catholic Church members to action against this Communist "president."

He must be openly called all the horrible things that he actually is, for all the world to hear and understand.

His attacks upon the sanctity of life, family, and Christian morality for which Catholics stand must be countered, even at great sacrifice to yourselves and great risk to your safety.

And even though we cannot agree with you in all of your theology, you can be certain that we are fighting for your liberties as well as our own.

We are openly in the field for battle against the ideology of Obama. His ideology is godless and Marxist.

Every country that I know of where there are Catholics and Protestants have Catholic and Protestant schools, including all 57 states here in the good old U.S. of A. Coming up with numbskulled comments from Obama is kind of like shooting fish in a barrel, but this one is a whopper.

Be nice if he applied a little of that logic on his friends, the Palestinians.

“President Barack Obama criticized Catholic education, suggesting that it’s harmful to national unity.”

Wrong.
He criticized having separate Catholic/Protestant education. Not the same thing at all.

He’s wrong of course. Dumping Catholics and Protestants into the same school will lead to bigger problems. People who can’t get along don’t like being forced together in the same room.

Odumbo flails his stupidity daily away from the teleprompter. Only the most ignorant utopian would make such a blithering comment. This particular queer is uniquely assinine.

He’s a damned fascist, no doubt about it -

“homeschooling will form a “parallel society” that threatens the “official” German culture designed by the government” - ruling against homeschooling in Germany.

A true man of lawlessness.

It’s really no wonder the left loves the guy.
He’s the epitome of a God-hating humanist.

No more local control of the schools....plus a determined agenda for the State to eventually control the minds of all little skulls full of mush.

This is called Common Core and the stupid people are lapping it up like honey.

Obama is waging war on Christianity, world-wide! You may see it as a war on Catholics, I could see it as a war on conservative (LCMS) Lutherans, but in reality, it is a war on Christians.

Hopefully, this will show all of us that as Christians, we must all hang together, or we will surely hang separately.

Obama is flat out anti-Christian.

I agree.

However, in this instance I don't believe he is picking on RC's anymore than he is picking on Protestants. He was referencing how religious affiliation is a determinate of political view in the 6 counties and the Republic of Ireland.

In the USA I don't think obama has a particular vendetta against RC's. He beat up their church pretty good before thew election and they still voted for him. If anything he probably views the RCC as a paper tiger.
