Dale Irby of Garland, Texas, did not mean to start a 40-year tradition when he wore a coffee-colored wool sweater vest over a polyester shirt for a yearbook photo in 1973.
The first-year teacher, now 63, simply pulled the in-fashion-at-the-time clothing from his closet on picture day. Then the next year, his second as a teacher in the Dallas Independent School District, he did it again, by chance.

That reminds me of a book I read as a kid, but that’s a story for another time. :)
My daily uniform is blue jeans and a light blue cotton short sleeve shirt, with a long sleeved flannel shirt in the winter. All my co-residents in my small town recognize me from a block away. Had a more varied uniform back before I gave up golf, But I had to simplify, and eliminated the difficult daily decisions about what to wear.
