Responding to reports of a nascent boycott against the upcoming movie version of his beloved 1985 sci-fi novel Enders Game because of his stated opposition to same-sex marriage, author Orson Scott Card has released a statement exclusively to EW. He declares the gay-marriage issue moot due to last months Supreme Court rulings. He also makes a plea for gay-marriage supporters to show tolerance toward those who disagreed with them when the issue was still in dispute. His full statement is below.

Oh, dear. Fags don’t like Orson Scott Card. Whatever shall he do as hops and skips to the bank with his cut of the loot?
I don't think the issue is finished. Doesn't the creator of marriage have the final say? The answer is yes.
Strange, I don’t recall anything from the books about opposition to gay marriage, and I find it hard to imagine a Hollyweird producer adding it to the movie. Oh well, Orson Scott Card asked the homo activists to do the one thing they never can: show tolerance.
lots of insane lefties hate Tolkien too, for his racist view of orcs...
The DOMA decision invites a legal challenge to marriage laws in traditional marriage states that will inevitably lead to a Roe V Wade on gay marriage from the Supreme Court.
That is earthly reality of the situation.
God will have His say in His time.
Call them what they are, Scott: BULLIES!!!
I loved the Enders Game and loved the novella that preceded the novel which I read in Analog when I was a teen. I recently read Enders Shadow and enjoyed it very much.
I’m pretty sure the movie will not live up to the book.
CDC says all of you poofters are spreading HIV at epidemic levels and that 40% of you “gays” have had sex with over 500 different men. That is a death wish and why you are called fags.
LLS
CDC must be rightwing nutjobs
probably impossible..... like leftists showing tolerance
I didnt have high expectations for Lord of the Rings or the Hobbit, perhaps I’m wrong.
I saw a guy watching it on his phone in the National airport about 4 weeks ago. I watched about 15 mins of it over his shoulder. It was the same as the trailers but was probably an early cut.
I wasn’t too impressed with what I saw and I’ve read that book about 30 times.
“Doesn’t the creator of marriage have the final say? The answer is yes.”
That’s right, and those of us breeding the next generation have plently of say in it as well.
The “culture” promoting these evils is rapidly disappearing; the darker, unassimilated foreign replacements are not tolerant people.
OSC has publicly stated his opposition to homosexual marriage.
So they want to destroy him, personally.

It would seem to me that Orson Scott Card issued his plea for tolerance solely because (his) money was at stake.
Must be!
I know these types, for the most part. They demand tolerance from everyone but themselves. If you offer them an olive branch, they’ll spit on it and throw it in your face. So they deserve none.
I loved the book, and always wanted to see a movie about it. Now that the intolerant fags don’t like it, I have far more incentive to see it, just to piss them off.
OSC shouldn’t apologize for his views...though I am personally sick of entertainers of whatever stripe sounding off on political issues. Generally (not OSC) they don’t know their asses from their elbows, so they should STFU. I want to be entertained by them, not lectured. Had OSC followed this advice, this controversy would never have come about.
