There's bad news from Russia for caviar connoisseurs - prices of even the cheaper alternatives are up 70%, it's reported.
Red caviar - or salmon roe - is usually at the more affordable end of the market, at less than a 10th of the price of the prized beluga in the UK. However, in Kamchatka territory, which produces up to 60% of Russian caviar each year, wholesale prices have jumped ...

I only eat caviar when others are paying at a business celebration (it's tasty but way too ostentatious to buy for eating at home in front of my kids).
I tried Caviar once, Once was enough. Nasty stuff.
Like sushi I have never tried caviar, I wouldn’t even consider eating raw fish or their raw eggs, but that’s just me I guess.
Those pics make me hungry ...
Never cared for it.
Too salty.
Caviar is nothing but a salmon or sturgeon embryonic egg with salt water in a membrane.

I last had it at Oktoberfest at Mountain Lake in Virginia. It was served with smoked Salmon, hard boiled egg and red onion. It was worth it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzdBepAAffU
I was disappointed with the fight, although they were delicious.
Maybe they were sluggish because it was a paylake in so. CA.
The trick is to use it almost as a condiment, like chutney, where the salt is distributed over a larger item and will not be overpowering.
Heeey, Once you get past the smell, why you..........
Good stuff cost money. We eat caviar few times a week. You should know where and what to buy.
I will settle for a piece of Talapia.
Do y’all pop each egg individually in your mouth? That’s the height of caviar epicureanism. It’s kinda fun, like monkeying with a pomegranate.
