Sen. Charles Grassley... said Pillard’s nomination wasn’t necessary because the D.C. circuit doesn’t have enough work to justify filling its three vacancies.

Grassley needs to do his homework, as he fails to mention this is the argument the Demoncrats used against a Bush nominee to the same circuit. "Grassley should say: "I find myself in agreement with my colleagues who said during the Bush era that filling of this vacancy was necessary..." (Sorry the candidates name escapes me for the moment but he was nominated to replace Roberts)
