During football season, the teams that win call the right plays from their playbook. And when it comes to immigration reform, Congress needs to make sure it makes the right calls. The House Judiciary Committee, which has jurisdiction over our immigration laws, is taking a step-by-step approach to immigration reform and building a strategic playbook that first strengthens border security and interior enforcement, improves our legal-immigration programs, and fairly deals with unlawful immigrants.
A robust border-security and interior-enforcement strategy is the first line of defense for any successful immigration system. Strong border security not only reduces illegal immigration, it also helps prevent drug smugglers, human traffickers, and terrorists from entering the United States. Interior enforcement helps detect two types of unlawful immigrants those who make it past the border and those who violate the terms of their visas. In fact, its estimated that 30 to 40 percent of unlawful immigrants came here legally and then overstayed their visas.
One reason why our immigration system is broken today is that President Obama and past administrations have largely ignored the enforcement of our immigration laws. Any real reform must take away the enforcement on/off switch from the president and guarantee that our laws will be enforced. Thats why the House Judiciary Committee has approved two commonsense bills to ensure that our laws are enforced and that the system works.
The Committee recently passed the SAFE Act, which grants states and localities the authority to enforce federal immigration laws, thereby preventing the president from unilaterally turning off immigration enforcement. It also strengthens national security by increasing border security, improving visa security, and protecting American communities from dangerous criminal immigrants.
Additionally, the Committee passed the Legal Workforce Act, requiring all U.S. employers to use E-Verify.,,

Bob Goodlatte (R., Va.) is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.
Step #1: Secure the border.
Eric Cantor, Bob Goodlatte eye bill for undocumented children

Two top House Republicans are writing legislation that would craft a path to legalization for young immigrants who were brought to the United States illegally as children.
Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), the second-ranking House Republican, and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) are working on the legislation, tentatively titled the Kids Act, their aides confirmed Thursday.
” and fairly deals with unlawful immigrants.”
Fairly? OK....
Deport them, or jail them. Isn’t that how America has always dealt with criminals?
Step #2: Green card for every valedictorian in exchange for deportation of every gang banger.
” Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), the second-ranking House Republican, and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) are working on the legislation, tentatively titled the Kids Act, their aides confirmed Thursday.”
Kids Act, my A$$!
This will open up the floodgates to 10’s of millions of illegals.

Bob Goodlatte (R., Va.) is a RINO Amnesty collaborator who is writing a Dream Act Amnesty bill for illegal kids and their relatives who are in the US and their relatives who have been deported.
We all know it is a trap and Goodlatte is engaging in deception.
Once bills are passed they will become the senate amnesty bill in committee and a vote to approve will be held.
The existing laws need to be enforced. Goodlatte is dishonest.
The KIDS Act written by Cantor and Goodlatte allows the “kids” to import relatives who have been deported and gives them legal status immediately. They are nuts!
How does the Department of Homeland Security know the percentage of people who attempt to cross the border illegally that are caught? How do you count people who are not seen? Who knows how many people are successfully smuggled across the border in the trunks of cars, especially if and when the Federal CBT agents have been bribed by the Mexican cartels? Hmmm? I would like to hear at least one reporter or member of congress ask this basic question.
The fact that all of the pro-amnesty-for-illegals articles repeat the number 11 million, unchanged for years, tells me that the actual number is substantially higher or else they wouldn’t keep pushing this one. I have seen estimates of 30 million or more and I believe them.
Unfortunately, the border now seems to be somewhere down around Costa Rica.
Will they get to be policemen and politicians, so that my children can stare into their foreign faces and be forced to say, Si, Mi Jefe, I bow to you?
Will that be the case, Bob? They get not just the right to ignore laws that are inconvenient, but the full benefit of laws that favor them over Americans?
If so, Bob, why do you call yourself an American, you Traitor?

Goodlatte is clueless and is likely in the tank for TPINO Ryan.
Hey Goodlatte, since when does the House make laws all by itself? Is the Senate still involved? Does the President still sign it into law?
Did you get the memo that any bill, ANY BILL, coming from the House will be inserted with a Senate Trojan that will result in a permanent democrat majority for generations to come?
NO BILL, ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH, NADA UNTIL CONSERVATIVES CONTROL THE HOUSE, SENATE AND WHITEHOUSE!!!
A union representing 12,000 federal immigration workers is warning top House Republicans against legalizing young undocumented immigrants. The union is made up of employees of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), which handles immigration paperwork. In a letter sent on Tuesday to four Republicans, including House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (Virginia) and Rep. Paul Ryan (Wisconsin), the union expressed worries about a Republican bill that would legalize DREAMers.
Since President Obama has already given deportation relief to young undocumented immigrants -- and bypassed Congress to do it -- the union worries he might similarly use his executive power to rework any Republican legislation once it's passed.
"What is to stop the Administration from simply issuing another round of non-enforcement orders (written or oral) that would eviscerate any attempted limitations in your bill?" wrote Kenneth Palinkas, the head of the National Citizenship and Immigration Services Council.
Cantor and Rep. Bob Goodlatte (Virginia), the chairman of a committee that oversees immigration legislation, are currently drafting the KIDS Act, a bill that would create a pathway to citizenship for DREAMers. (Excerpt) Read more at abcnews.go.com ...
All good questions.
And riddle me this: if NSA has the capacity to intercept virtually every mode of communication on the planet, and does, how is it that they don’t have all the traffic that Mexican smugglers engage in?
Capturing trans-border traffic related to criminal incursion into the United States would seem to be one of the legitimate tasks for NSA.
So do they? And if so, isn’t it reasonable to infer that they pretty much know ALL the activities going on?
And if that’s true, then why no apprehensions? If they basically monitor about 99% of what’s going down, but only apprehend like 20-30%, it would seem...intentional.
Oh Say It Isn’t So. You mean....they’re being LET in?
Why yes, darlings. Part of the plan.
fairly deals with unlawful immigrants

that would be DEPORTATION
I would call that part the Brewer amendment: federal law giving her authority to enforce immigration law so Obama cant get the court to stop it. Now that is a bitter poison pill for Dems, DOA.
And pretty darn hard to argue against. Opposing that is like siding with Obama on his getting the court to halt Brewer's 'round them up' activities. Cruz originally proposed this I think/.
The SAFE Act part is sweet, letting states enforce the immigration laws when Obama refuses to. (if that is really what it does)
Does anyone believe that Obama has deportation on his mind?
