Ok. So if they heard all that terror chatter prior to 9/11...why didn’t they do anything then?
That was on the report that Bill Clinton had made marginal notes on - which then had to be stolen from the National Archives by Sandy Burger at the time they were having hearings on 9/11 - Clinton had said that he had never been informed of any possible terrorist plots, but obviously, he had been (and ignored it).
How much of that information even got forwarded to Bush inthe few months between his inauguration and 9/11 is unclear. Bush had trouble getting any of his appointees confirmed speedily, difficulty getting information out of the people who had been agency heads under Clinton, etc.
Great question! Apparently ANY “chatter” would be more than we picked up on 9/10.

Well,if they had closed all the embassies for a Sunday back then, We still wouldn’t have the twin towers. And frankly, our collective Mind was blown that day. We were naive about the extent to which the enemy would go to harm us. As I saw on TV the second plane hit, my first thought was terrorism, and then: where did terrorists get big empty planes like that?? I couldn’t conceive at first that those were planes filled with innocent passengers. We have changed a lot since then.
