THE WASHINGTON POST WAS SOLD FOR A PITTANCE OF WHAT IT WAS ONCE WORTH BECAUSE OF ITS CONTENT... PERIOD... END OF STORY!
THE WASHINGTON POST WAS SOLD FOR A PITTANCE OF WHAT IT WAS ONCE WORTH BECAUSE OF ITS CONTENT...
True, but probably not the only reason. With the Internet now pervasive, all print media are seeing reduced customers. With the country split ideologically, and no conservative ‘national’ newspapers other than the WSJ, it is the leftist papers that are left to fight over their half of a diminishing market. Same in television; Fox has the conservatives and all the others fight over the liberal half.
By the way, do you notice where the best opportunity is? Sorry Fox.
The Wcompost sold for a fraction of its former worth because it's financial value declined precipitously. The reason for this is due to both content AND competition, but its biased reporting has a lot to do with its loss of value.
I tend to disagree, the Post preaches to the beltway choir, and if there is any place in the US that would support their liberal content (outside of NYC) it's the beltway. I think the Post is just another "victim" of technology.
