They just aren't quite so vocal about it, according to one new study.
Despite what they may claim, geniuses are no less likely than their denser peers to be racist, according to a new study from the University of Michigan.
While intelligent white Americans were more likely to support the ideals of racial tolerance, their subsequent responses to specific, race-based policies did not bear out those claims, the study found.
"High-ability whites are less likely to report prejudiced attitudes and more likely to say they support racial integration in principle," said Geoffrey Wodtke, a doctoral candidate in sociology at Michigan and the study's author. "But they are no more likely than lower-ability whites to support open housing laws and are less likely to support school bussing and affirmative action programs."
Of course, bussing and affirmative action programs lie at the center of a heated debate over the government's approach to reducing racial inequality. The Supreme Court, spearheaded by a conservative majority, in 2007 struck down a school integration effort in Washington, while making it clear that affirmative action at the university level is in peril. Conservatives would hardly think their opposition to such policies constituted racism — indeed, many say the policies themselves are racist.

First off, the article is so laden with pitfalls stacked against the conservative viewpoint in the language used to subtlety presuppose the conservative viewpoint having been spawned in Satan's lair.
The first law of racial politics is that racism is a white phenomena that has no black equivalent, white racism, or simply racism as defined solely as phenomena of white society, is the consequence of the power held by whites one which effectively excludes any other group, as elucidated in torturous circumlocution by black scholars of power held by whites in the perpetuation of racist policies against blacks, others. Ergo, blacks are incapable of racism as the lack of power disallows them to implement racist policy.
The article continues to be riddled with the typical liberal pathology, for example in the manner in which it makes a differentiation between intelligent and non-intelligent whites that starts off with a presumed conclusion that intelligent whites tend to be more tolerant than that of their lesser peers but is a premise they eventually end up abandoning by saying all whites are prejudiced except that intelligent whites tend to be less vocal (truthful) about their real intentions regarding race.
The article continues to malign whites by saying that subsequent responses to the study to specific race-based policies did not bear out those claims, again, alluding to whites lying about how they really feel about blacks, racism.
The study was made by Geoffrey Wodtke, a doctoral candidate in sociology at the university of Michigan which is an immediate tip-off that the truth, objectivity is the first casualty of the study.
Just as a side point, I have to speculate that the study was financed by the Federal government, in addition to financing research on the sexual side-effects of cocaine on garter snakes.
I doubt it. Conservatives have all the brains (or else how did they get to be conservatives?), and liberals account for most of the racists.

Refusing to support racial grievance does not make me racist.
All humans exhibit racist and prejudicial behavior. It called a learned response.
If it’s learned how can it be guaranteed that all humans do it?
Walking is a learned behavior.
The fact that white liberals are lying hypocrites aside and make mountains out of every imaginable possible thing that can be tied to “racism”, the whole thing is a BS witch hunt.
It is the nature of human beings to have prejudices in all sorts of ways. BFD. Whining libs need to put their big boy underpants on, STFU and get on with the business of life. *Their own lives*. NOT everyone else’s.

Now, we have a word for that. For being prejudiced against someone based only on race. For stereotyping based on race, for hurling hate-filled speech at someone based on assumptions grounded on their race relative to someone else's. That word is racist. The liberals who vomit that term at those who oppose them based solely on assumptions based on their opponent's race are more surely guilty of real racism than any one hundred people the have accused of racism combined. Yet of course they are completely blind to their own very real, very deep seated and knee-jerk racism. It is sad, and I actually pitty them (those very few who eventually see it) the pain and anguish they feel upon realizing they are the very thing the have railed against - racists.

I saw another report on this “study”. The fact that the researcher on racism limited his research to only study white people lets you know his biases and agenda.
The sad part is that the researcher’s name sounds white. His next study should be about white guilt. This time he’ll likely find a greater disparity among whites. White people who’ve lived in diverse areas and have seen what diversity often brings have less white guilt, and egghead academics and others like them who live in nearly all white college towns are filled with white guilt.
Perhaps racists are just as smart as anyone else.
You just don’t get reasoned out of what you were never reasoned into.
Wealthy People are as likely as others to be racist. They just understand the risk of breaking class shibboleths on racism and oikophobia and create their own ways to discriminate.
They will hire immigrants over the native underclass
They will live in separate neighborhoods or gated communities. Their children only go to school with the talented tenth.
This study is a lie propagating a myth.
Their basis for judging someone racist was the person was against liberal political policies.
The current PC definition is ludicrous being Racism: What non PC white people think and say and do in regards to anything at all.
There are, indeed, people who don’t walk. They are called “crippled.” Some learned responses and actions are basic to humanity.

Liberals live in a world free of the constraints of cause and effect. In liberal land, it is simultaneously necessary to reduce the entrance requirement for a certain segment of the population because they are less qualified, but racist to suggest that entrants from that segment might be less qualified than entrants from other segments. The notion that the very act of reducing entrance requirements is almost guaranteed to reduce the average quality of applicants somehow escapes them.
