A longer, more detailed article discusses Putin's support for the Egyptian military, against the Muslim Brotherhood.

Apparently Putin was planning to go to Egypt, but obviously as a result of the severe unrest he didn't.

But a couple of good excerpts from the article I linked:

"For Putin, this will be his second trip to Cairo; his first took place in 2005 when Hosni Mubarak was president. He will play it to the hilt as a platform to show the world, and especially Arab Muslims, that he alone of the world's five leading powers is openly committed to fighting radical Islam and ready to assist any Arab leader sharing this commitment.

Putin hopes to come away from Cairo as champion of the war on radical Islam in two important Arab countries and the most reliable ally of forces for moderation."

One does need to pick sides and when one side is radical Islam, whatever the other side may be, it's the better one.

In the meantime:

“..attempts by Hagel and Ashton to twist the Egyptian general’s arm into releasing Morsi from detention and re-integrating the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt’s national politics.

Hagel specifically pressed him to bring Muslim Brotherhood members into the interim government and give them free rein to run candidates for parliament in early 2014.”

Yet, Russia is in bed with Iran.

That's a tough dichotomy to explain.

There is much about Putin that I do not like, but he is a brilliant tactician and has been playing us like fools for years.

Hopefully all our former allies cut us off and head to Russia. Then Americans will be forced into drilling our own resources, building our own products with them and we won’r be sending out military off on social experiments.

I’m done with the world cop thing.

Eortress America 2016.

This just keeps getting better and better. Obama is toast, and not whole wheat either. Obama is just stale White Bread, turning to mould, and a rewrite is due , tentatively called “Screams from My Father.”.

Putin is about to bore Obama another rectal orifice ( that makes number 3 or 4?).I never thought I would cheer a Russian leader.

Soon the Sunni/Sauds and the Shiite/Iranians will have a war which envelopes the entire middle East, and the Saudi oil empire and Mecca are directly at risk.Obama’s Saudi mentors must not be very happy with him, one kiss to the King of Sauds ring, too far.I am sure they are just now pining for the good old days of Mohammar Ghadaffi.

I am sure Benjamin Nethanyahu has produced several internal security directives which contain terms such as “low profile” , “redirect”,”dodge”,”rope a dope”,”deflect”,”parry”, and “DUCK!”.Israel will be surrounded by either sea or civil war in every cardinal direction, when Jordon falls , thanks to the machinations of the Black Purple Pumpernill of “Hope n’ Change “ of the USA.Even Robert Mugabe has more sense.

Putin is about to become “da man!” , a champion against fascism.Who would have thunk it?
But then communists never did get along with fascists very well.Obama may very well have a bunker awaiting him in his near future.

Whichever side is the side against Islam is the side I want to win and that America should support. Putin is being smart here. 0bamy being his usual traitorous self, his father was Muslim and his mother a hippy so no surprise here and with all the chooming 0 did.

So where is the love for Obama? Where is that sweet Reggie Love shooting hoops with 0 in Martha’s Vineyard......

Once again, Putin is demonstrating why he is a far better leader than Obama. While the Obama Regime continues to support the enemies of America (Al Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, etc.) and the other insurrectionists in Syria, Egypt and North Africa, Russia is moving to support governments that, while not our friends, are certainly not hostile towards us.

It’s clear Russia is still playing the Cold War game of geopolitical alliances while Obama can’t quite figure out who either his friends or enemies are. His foreign policy ineptitude is making Americans far less safer in the world, and undoing years of hard fought geopolitical gains and strategic alliances built by previous administrations.

He is not just an ideologue: he is a naive idealist who hasn’t a clue as to how the real world works.

There is something majorly wrong when Russian leadership constantly outperforms American leadership. We have got to get America back on track.

Russian Roulette as Obummer parties. Putin knows an opening when he sees it. El-Sissi sides with the Coptic Christians and promises to rebuild the churches the MB burned to the ground and Obummer throws his support behind the MB. Do we need any more proof that Obummer is a MB Trojan Horse?

It must be hard for journalists covering world events to decide which "governments" to question in these tense times.

Taking a risk of angering the wrong entities would be an odd choice between getting blown up or having an instant heart attack the Chicago way, getting poisoned the good old fashioned KGB way or getting decapitated by the "brothers" or being totally ignored and then just financially wiped out by the your local money handlers (IRS).

Lay down your bets ladies and gentlemen...this is a deadly global game of chess.

Egyptian Islamists target Christians as security tightens ahead of protests

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/08/18/egyptian-islamists-attack-christian-churches/

“In the four days since security forces cleared two sit-in camps by Morsi supporters, Islamists have attacked dozens of Coptic churches, along with homes and businesses owned by the Christian minority. The campaign of intimidation appears to be a warning to Christians outside Cairo to stand down from political activism.”

Did anyone hear Obama condemn this? Me neither...

i have to admit, i was completely wrong about putin. he’s now the greatest foreign defender of the Faith and America’s geopolitical interests. i should have realized much earlier how wrong i was about him when when mccain said he hated him. live and learn.

The news from Russia is really odd lately. It seems like Russia is stepping up where the U.S. would have stepped up in the past. Russia seems on top of the issues, we seem (well) off on some wild goose chase toward oblivion.

I still like it here, just sayin’.
