KEY QUESTION: Where the hell was he driving FROM/TO at 4:30AM in Los Angeles?
Here's the map/theory I put together.

The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office says journalist Michael Hastings, who won fame writing the Rolling Stone article that ended General Stanley McChrystal's career, had drugs including amphetamines and marijuana in his system when he was killed in a fiery car crash in June.
However, a toxicology report states the amphetamines, likely meth, were "unlikely to have an intoxicative effect at the time of the accident,” and that Hastings likely ingested the marijuana hours earlier.
Hasting’s cause of death was massive blunt force trauma, and the coroner determined he likely lost consciousness upon impact and died within seconds.

The tests are very sensitive. A positive test may mean that a few molecules of the drug are present — far, far below the level of intoxication. And, far, far below a “toxic brew”.

Now, golly... you’d have to be a terrible cynic to think that the gubbermint would fake up a blood test, wouldn’t you? Or that some nefarious persons or persons unknown, for whatever reasons might want to make it look like this guy was a druggie.

Again, there is a much closer police station on Wilcox, north of Fountain.
and the question is WHY? We will never know the truth simply because the report says he had drugs in his system. They could just have simply place that to make Michael look like some drug addict and to cover up their corruption.
