How about a cost of living increase for the old folks struggling to get by on their SS checks instead?
This my friends is why nothing will ever change. "Conservatives" are all about limiting the size of government with the stipulation their entitlements don't get touched.

Destroy the economy and then when folks are old and poor demand they stand on their own economically, destroy their savings and then chastise them for not saving more and retiring with millions to carry them later on.
I get the point.
