Barack Obama issues executive orders on gun control

Unable to overcome opposition to new gun laws from Republicans and a handful of conservative Democrats, the White House has resorted to issuing executive orders which do not need Congressional approval.

The new orders ban Americans from buying weapons that the US military has provided to foreign governments. Around 250,000 guns, including assault rifles, have been re-imported back into the US since 2005, according to White House figures.

A second order prevents gun buyers from registering machine guns or sawn-off shotguns to a corporation and therefore avoid undergoing a personal background check.

IMO this is just a finger in the wind to see how much resistance is out there for Executive Orders that skirt the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment. I look to see more coming in the near future if there is no opposition.

When is someone going to tell him that executive orders are instructions from the President to the executive branch. They are not laws, nor do they have any power over the citizens of the United States.

This whole trend is troubling but it is more so when Congress made it clear that they did not want any more gun laws. So once again this President is going around Congress and the will of the people.

Why do we have a Congress if the President can create laws and decide which laws are to be enforced and which can be ignored.

When will his action result in his impeachment?

Of course, there will be another flurry of EO’s. There is no loyal opposition, enough to matter, left in DC.

Boehner has won out in the House and folded, and the senate is already taken. Priebus is at the RNC shaping and gathering crops for more of the same milquetoast types coming, and FOX seats McCain so often that it’s his second job.
