Kerry derided Syrian President Bashar Assad as a two-bit dictator who will continue to act with impunity,
Then Kerry looking confused asked “ Did I just say Assad? because I was thinking Obama”.

I’m surprised Lurch can spell “Munich”. Much less understand what it meant.

A yea vote will have the media blaming republicans for sending us to war and a no will have the media say that republicans support murdering innocent women and children.
Either way Obama is going to Syria and assisting alqaeda and the Muslim brotherhood. That was the plan all along. Only reason to get congress involved is so they can be a scapegoat for the outcome.

He is referencing the ‘38 Munich. He thinks that if we fail to stop Syria now, Assad will turn into a megalomaniac, bent on world domination.
Yes, I know it is just silly to read that.
He should call in some Neo Cons...those guys can put together a show and start a War.
Where he sees 1938...I kind of see 1898—and the start of the Spanish American War. The folks in DC are just itching to launch some tomahawks.

In a 70-minute conference call on Monday afternoon, Kerry derided Syrian President Bashar Assad as a two-bit dictator who will continue to act with impunity, and he urged lawmakers to back President Barack Obamas plan for limited, narrow strikes against the Assad regime, Democratic sources on the call said. Too bad Kerry didn't take such a strong stand when we were already in a shooting war with Iraq and with the Taliban. Does anyone else find this hypocrisy staggering, even for Democrats?

Yes that's why I hedged my language, I was aware of the treaty guaranteeing the neutrality of Belgium that went back about three quarters of a century. Many historians agree that Britain could have honorably ignored the strictures of that treaty but chose not to and entered the war.

That’s a good point. I’m sure it’s seared into his memory, though.

Very true, no one could have imagined the effects modern weapons would have on the battlefield, they were thinking of the Franco-Prussian war, that it would end quickly.

Sounds like he wants a “Needs to be made a fool of” moment. I wouldn’t be referencing Munich when trying to create a diplomatic solution to anything.
