Is yogurt a sufficient form of probiotics?

Not the artificially flavored/colored “yogurt” found in your grocer’s dairy case. If you stuck with a plain, whole Greek you might be ok. There are crock pot recipes for homemade which I’ve used, but both my kids have dairy issues so that’s no longer an option. I prefer Metagenics ProbenZyme just because it’s so easy. I don’t have the gumption right now to make my own sauerkraut or kimchi. In the future I might though.
