Desegregation, civil rights legislation -- all these things came in being because white voters had good will towards blacks, felt sympathy towards them, and wanted to help.
You know all that good will? It's turning to hate. I see it more and more every day among people I know. It WILL reach the tipping point some day soon.
In my area that tipping point was reached when Newark fell in the 1960s; many of the residents of the suburbs either lived in Newark at the time or are the children of those chased out. There is no “white guilt” in the Newark NJ area.
