Obama sets Tuesday speech; big challenges on Syria

PETERSBURG, Russia — Beset by divisions at home and abroad, President Barack Obama candidly acknowledged deep challenges Friday in pursuing support for a military strike against Syria from international allies and the U.S. Congress. He refused to say whether he might act on his own, a step that could have major implications for the U.S. as well as for the remainder of his presidency.

[snip] "I did not put this before Congress just as a political ploy or as symbolism," Obama said, adding that it would be a mistake to talk about any backup strategy before lawmakers vote on a use-of-force resolution.

[snip] The countries signing the statement with the U.S. were Australia, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

Putin said the U.S. push for military action has been supported only by Turkey, Canada, Saudi Arabia and France.

[snip] The president departed Russia Friday night, bound for Washington where he also faces tough going in rallying support for military action, including from fellow Democrats. Force-authorization resolutions face an uncertain future in Congress, and a significant segment of the American public opposes a strike.

In five years, Obama has done little to win anyone's trust; he has recently fired 4 generals; downgraded our military on many fronts; has he like Bill Clinton, borrowed money from the DOD for his many AF1 trips? His latest denial about his red line is probably the straw that will break the camel's back...think congress. His will-'O-the-whisp promises are more than delusive, they are dis-honest, hardly worthy of America and Americans.

“Obama sets Tuesday speech to sway the American people . . .” and who in their right mind would even take the time to sit through another lying (prepared teleprompter) speech to the American people from Obama in yet another attempt to trick, bamboozle, and con his way forward into national socialist (Nazi) government transformation; where this Nazi administration supports the Muslim Brotherhood (who supported Hitler in WWII), this Nazi government spies on the American people through the NSA; the IRS threatens the American people with opposite political views (Tea Party); and the Justice Department (under Holder) attacks anyone (white) who wants to put an end to Mexican Nationals illegally crossing into the United States and voting for the Nazi Party (formally the DNC)?
