Fla. Attorney General Bondi asked for delay in Gore execution date because of fundraiser
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida is delaying the execution date of a former escort service owner because of a campaign fundraiser.
Gov. Rick Scott delayed the execution of convicted killer Marshall Lee Gore from Sept. 10 until Oct. 1 at the request of Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Scott said Monday that he did not know why Bondi asked for the delay. He says it was routine to accommodate requests from other officials.
The Sept. 10 execution date conflicted with the date of a Bondi fundraiser. Bondi's reason for wanting the date delayed was initially reported by The News Service of Florida.
Gore was convicted in the 1988 slaying of Robyn Novick, a 30-year-old exotic dancer. In addition to Novick, Gore also was sentenced to death for the 1988 slaying of Susan Roark.
Pretty scummy move.
I think Marshall Gore should be the guest of honor and keynote speaker at Bondi’s fundraiser.

But then again what else can we expect from the woman who appointed Angela Corey to persecute Zimmerman.
I strongly suggest that she is wise to not pull a fundraiser at the time of an execution, because this could be (would be) used by the Democrats to imply that the killer is being killed as part of fundraising.
That *might* even be enough to get some softie judge to issue a stay for months or even years.
