Recall James resigned from ESPN in 2011 to enter the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate seat that ultimately went to Ted Cruz. During the campaign James took a strong anti-gay stance. "We just asked ourselves how Craig's statements would play in our human resources department," said a Fox spokesman. "He couldn't say those things here."

Exactly. But then again we've entered the era of thoughtcrime.

What’s the problem? I don’t think the core audience of Fox Sports likes fags. Now, if he was looking for a job at MSNBC, I’d understand...

Meanwhile in more Fox news, Coulter last night on Hannity referred to the peace deal by saying Putin made him look like a monkey. Hannity jumped in and said now why would you make a controversal statement like that to which Coulter did not even acknowledge with a response as she continued talking.

It disgusts me how even evangelical religious leaders tip toe with conciliation before the Gaystapo, and always preface any sterilized condemnation with, “but we are all sinners.”

No, homosexuality - all sexual sins - are in a class by themselves. God destroyed a group of cities with fire because of it. And he’ll do it again.

I assumed that was due to Putin’s statement about the U.S. in the Middle East is like watching a monkey with a hand grenade...

that is probably why she said it but obviously Hannity got the memo, do not say or do anything remotely debasing his excellency.

I'd surmise you're correct. My observation is that folks in the news business are pretty much the same kind of folks wherever you go. At MSNBC, you can be sure they're not nearly as Lefty as the talking heads on the network—otherwise nothing would get done. At FOX, the grunts are not as conservative as the talking heads—some of whom are themselves more conservative in private than they appear in public.

But there are certain corporate functions that are guaranteed to attract poofs, which tend to push corporations toward a more panty-waist public stance. Those functions include HR and PR in a big way. Ordinary employees don't want to offend these people, because they work with them, and ordinary managers don't either, because both HR and PR are black boxes to them.

And it's really the poof sensibility itself, not socialism. Not all corporate poofs are liberals.

Are you a believer in Judeo-Christian ethics? Don’t bother to apply for a job here.

I thought they wanted to be an alternate to ESPN. If I want liberal politics with my sports then I should watch ESPN not Fox; they have been doing longer and are better at it.

All the big dictators had folks in every factory, office, farm and barracks to keep tabs on the politics of the ‘inmates’. NKVD, OGPU, Gestapo, human resources - all the same functions.

The other factor, and likely the actual deciding factor, is that Craig James is possibly the most hated sports personality in the State of Texas. Hiring him in the first place was a blunder, and to use this miserably flimsy excuse as a pretext for firing the guy just compounds the stupid.

So honesty, decency, good morals are not welcome in your HR Dept? Shame on you. The time will come that you will wish you had done the right thing.

I figured Craig James wasn’t hired due to his “popularity” in Texas Tech getting Mike Leach fired.

People need to finally understand that not strongly supporting the anything-goes, multi-partner, bisexual, what-the-heck-am-I, GLBT, teach-it-to-kids homo Agenda, is now believed to mean “anti gay.”

Please explain. I don't follow CFB as closely as pro football.

See: #17, and read up on Mr. James’ use of his status at ESPN to get Mike Leach fired. The transcripts of his depositions are pretty funny...

James also was a crooked player at SMU. It was a standing joke that he took a pay cut to go to the NFL. SMU received the ‘Death Penalty’ due to his and others actions.

With the Texas Tech and SMU histories, one could say that James has brought down two Texas College Football programs.
