He did not say private insurance companies, he said for profit which is an attack on capitalism. Not to mention Blue Cross and others are not for profit. They want nationalized HC and enslave everyone.

Remember this all about making health care providers FEDERAL EMPLOYEES, which then makes them DUES PAYING MEMBERS OF THE SEIU!

Here on Free Republic, I do not need to add the next sentence!

A distinction without a difference. Brit Hume understood what Kucinich was getting at and mentioned that private insurance companies were not the problem.

Blue Cross and others are not for profit.

Not for profit? It depends on how you define the term.

Prior to the Tax Reform Act of 1986, organizations administering Blue Cross Blue Shield were tax exempt under 501(c)(4) as social welfare plans. However, the Tax Reform Act of 1986 revoked that exemption because the plans sold commercial-type insurance. They became 501(m) organizations, subject to federal taxation but entitled to "special tax benefits" under IRC 833. In 1994, the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association changed to allow its licensees to be for-profit corporations. Some plans are still considered not-for-profit at the state level.

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder signs measures turning Blue Cross Blue Shield into mutual insurer

And there are plenty of other private insurance companies that are profit making in the conventional sense.

On Friday’s Rush’ show, the great Mark Steyn hosting, there was a caller who emigrated from the former Yugoslavia.

All communist countries have Obamacare. His comments were about his father, who was an obstetrician in Yugoslavia.

This gentleman’s comments reflect my own personal memories of life behind the Iron curtain. My father also was an obstetrician in Czechoslovakia, We escaped in 1966 and rived in the US in 1967.

The comments about patients bringing “gifts” to the doctor in order to insure a level of care above and beyond butchery resurrected my childhood memories.

Should Obamacare become intrenched we will have England’s healthcare or much worse.
