Pelosi says 'the cupboard is bare'

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says that while deficit reduction is a laudable goal, there are precious few spending cuts left to negotiate in exchange for raising the debt ceiling.
"The cupboard is bare," the California Democrat said in an interview aired Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union." "There's no more cuts to make."
"We all want to reduce the deficit," she added. "Put everything on the table, review it, but you cannot have any more cuts just for the sake of cuts. Right now you’re taking trophies."
Pelosi said raising the debt ceiling is "an issue that really shouldn’t be a conversation," defending President Barack Obama's record on deficit reduction so far.
She blasted House Republicans who eye reductions to entitlement funding and took aim at them on a budget strategy tied to defunding Obamacare that she said amounts to them as "legislative arsonists."

NO Kidding.
I do no think they can get rid of all of the duplicate programs within the US government. I believe it was was Sen. Coburn who wrote a report about all the duplicate programs that could be eliminated. I think there are over 40 job training programs as a beginning.

My grandfather head of the School board said in his budget for school in 1921 was Coal, Chalk, and the TEachers Salary. People took turns giving the school teacher room and board. Nothing else was in the budget. Surely Nancy Pelosi can find something to cut. If not, we´ve elected a LOT of totally stupid people.

The total amount of money that the federal government gives directly to the American people has grown by 32 percent since Barack Obama became president. Start there Nancy.
Sure, get rid of all the government handouts.
But BRING BACK AMERICAN JOBS. We have sent far too many jobs to China where no American workers are helped at all.

Nope, that $1 trillion she and Imam Obama are spending on extra entitlements and that $85 billion/month they are bribing the stock market with aren’t needless spending...they’ve cut it to the bone....hahahahahahahaha
Post Office is one of the few things which the OCN situation calls for the Federal government to do.
Granny Pelosi is displaying the unmistakeable symptoms of dementia. More private sector jobs means more tax money, Nancy. Private sector jobs PRODUCE tax money. Government jobs CONSUME tax money. The Democrats don’t automatically love government jobs. They like having control, and they can control the top people in government agencies. They don’t have that same level of control over people running private sector companies. Democrats never do any self-examination and they are convinced that they are smarter than everyone else.
