Chris Wallace offered viewers a real Washington whodunit yesterday on Fox News Sunday. Wallace told viewers that Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has so angered some of his fellow Republicans with his strategy and public statements on defunding ObamaCare that “top Republicans” rushed to offer him “unsolicited research and questions” for his interview with Cruz that morning. Panelist Karl Rove argued that Cruz’ colleagues see him as grandstanding rather than attempting to build a real united front, which has infuriated Cruz’ colleagues in the Senate as well as the House:
This has been one of the strangest weeks Ive ever had in Washington, Wallace said. As soon as we listed Ted Cruz as our featured guest this week, I got unsolicited research and questions, not from Democrats but from top Republicans, to hammer Cruz.
This was a strategy laid out by Mike Lee (R-UT) and Ted Cruz without any consultation with their colleagues, said Karl Rove. With all due respect to my junior Senator from Texas, I suspect this is the first time that the end game was described to any Republican Senator. They had to tune in to listen to you to find out what Teds next step was in the strategy.
You cannot build a Congressional majority, in either party, for any kind of action, unless you are treating your colleagues with some certain amount of respect, and saying, Hey, what do you think of my idea? Rove said. Instead they have dictated to their colleagues through the media, and through public statements, and not consulted them about this strategy at all.
Sarah Palin demanded that Wallace identify his sources, but that won’t happen, and it’s almost silly to ask it. Why would he burn his sources on something this nonsensical? We could take a poll of Republican officeholders on Capitol Hill to try to solve this whodunit, which we could call 279 Little GOPians, but it might take a long time to get to the point where there are none.
Mitch McConnell’s team says make that 278:
Jesse Benton, the campaign manager for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnells re-election campaign, told Breitbart News on Sunday that of course not, neither McConnell, nor anyone on his Senate staff or campaign staff, shopped any opposition research on Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) to any members of the media, including Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace.
Senator Cruz is a friend and valued member of the Republican caucus, Benton added in an email.
Perhaps McConnell might be best advised to call a team huddle at this point and get everyone settled down, if not pointed in the right direction.
Ted Cruz Ping!
If you want on/off this ping list, please let me know.
Please beware this is a high-volume ping list!
“Sources”? Who are they??
Rove showed so much respect for Christine ODonnel didn't he...he probably alerted the IRS...
Hint- it starts with a K and ends with a arl rove

I don’t see anything strange about that. At all. RINO’s and the GOP-e have been out for blood for months now. Against Cruz.
And those types are here at FR too. Already this morning the mods deleted a thread designed to smear Sen. Cruz.
I wish they wouldn’t do that. I guess they did it as a courtesy to the 9 year FReeper who was flaming Cruz. Delete the thread or zot the Freeper. What to do?
I think Cruz was treating them with the respect they have earned in the last 5 years.
Sort of sounds like Debbie Wasserman-Schultz claiming Obama had many nations lining up for his coalition against Syria, none of which she could name.
Of course, regarding Cruz, most of the Beltway GOP-elites are probably the ones supplying the media opposition research. I doubt there would be many surprises, if Wallace did release a list. Suppliers are probably from the House leadership, the Senate leadership, and the K-Street consultants and advisers.
I think the biggest problem in the Repulican group is a man named Rove. He want’s the status quo and anyone not on “HIS” team is a rogue Republican. He’s into “getting along with the democrats”.
I say hammer away. As long as the questions are fair Cruz will beat anybody currently in DC on a policy debate.
I think this is great. Ted Cruz is above this party BS. He’s a man for the people. I think the Peter Kings out there are doing us a service. I want him to be independent of the Karl Rove’s and company.
Well, now.
Tell me again why I should support the GOP.....
It isn't the slightest bit silly to ask. In fact, it's just about mandatory. Wallace can't be allowed to say something like that without being called out on his sources. If a reporter is going to make a claim like that, he'd better be prepared to either dish or take the consequences.
The above is self evident, my question to myself and others at large is, Knowing how they operate and knowing their[Republican Elites] hatred and contempt toward Conservatives and Christians, Why do I continue to vote for Republicans? I had no intelligent answer. .
As was pointed out yesterday, if Chris Wallace refuses to name the sources, yet he spewed what they said, that makes him the sole source of the “leaks.” You own ‘em, Chrissy.
As long as the opposition party continues to eat it’s own, there’s no stopping our headlong plunge into Socialism.

John McCain and Lindsey Graham.
Herman was only in it to provide some color, split the conservative vote, and sell some books.
When he got a little too big for his britches, it was easy to take him out.
