Duffy is an ignorant ninny.
They like being in office. They want to stay in office for the perks and power and prestige. They figure no matter what they say the Tea Partiers will vote for them so they try to earn favor with the democrats. They’re in for a big surprise come next election.
OK, it’s all too arcane for me. It seems the House gave the Senate a bill with defunding in it. Now Cruz does a quasi-filibuster, knowing that he can’t muster the votes to keep the the defunding clause (amendment) in the package. If he knows he can’t win over enough senators, why wouldn’t the House Republicans be a little PO’d, knowing that he is just telling them to do more of the same?
I’m genuinely asking someone to give me a synopsis of Cruz’ strategy. I loved what he said in the ‘filibuster,’ but don’t see how it can play out to a winning hand.

But it clearly is Senate conservatives putting the screws to House Republicans. The conservative Senators essentially get a free pass with the cloture vote, while he House Republicans get the hell kicked out of them. I can see where that might be a little galling.
Sean Duffy replaced that disgusting David Obey that got re-elected way too many times. From the upper left coast of Wisconsin, wayyyy toooo close to the lefty Minnenoplace land of lefties.
We were happy to have him, actually, but very disappointed to read this. He’s voted with the GOP mostly, but some controversial things, like this. And THIS is totally UN-acceptable.

So, a guy whose rating from the Right to Life Committee is 100% and is 88% with the National Conservative Union is a “RINO”? This is getting ridiculous. We won’t win another election in my lifetime.

I don’t get why you are making such statements. The Senate conservatives get a free pass on nothing. They have gone to the mat over this, while their RINO colleagues not only won’t join them but go out and trash them. That’s not the fault of the conservatives.
That’s why the pressure is all on the House.
But I will state this, flat out. This Duffy cat is not one of the good guys. He’s every bit as bad as the Senate RINOS.
