In yesterday’s U.N. speech, Obama kissed goodbye to U.S. allies and signed on with Iran, Russia, and Syria.
Iranian president Hassan Rouhani didn’t have to snub Obama yesterday by choosing not to meet with him on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly meeting. But, as with Vladimir Putin’s victory lap op-ed in the New York Times, Rouhani chose to rub Obama’s face in the dirt because he could. The author is a NeoCon and the Weekly Standard is a NeoCon publication.
So what he is really talking about is doctrine. One part of foreign policy doctrine is who we talk to, or negotiate with.
So strictly speaking, under NeoCon doctrine, Obama should not be doing this. And that was a major campaign issue in 2008 when candidate Obama said that he would negotiate with Iran without precondition.
Obama is not a NeoCon. George Bush was a NeoCon so he wouldn't negotiate with Iran, except, after the fact, it came out that Bush had been secretly negotiating with Iran.
As for being involved in Syria, yes, the NeoCon Republicans are most adamant about intervening in Syria. The Liberal Interventionist democrats also want to intervene in Syria.

For this to be true, it must be postulated that he was on our side in the first place. I can't do that.
Reagan also secretly negotiated with Iran for their help in freeing kidnapped Americans. In exchange he secretly sold Iran weapons, with Israel as a go-between. Some of the arms sale profits were then illegally used to help fund a counterrevolution in Nicaragua.
I think Obama has been secretly negotiating with Iran since before taking office in 2009.
