UN Climate Change Report Dismisses Slowdown in Global Warming
Fox News ^ | September 27, 2013 | Staff

The Earth has changed in “unprecedented ways” since 1950, the U.N. says, and its scientists are 95 percent certain that humans are responsible.

Yet the planet has largely stopped warming over the past 15 years, data shows -- and a landmark report released Friday by the U.N.’s climate group could not explain why the mercury has stopped rising.

The Earth has changed in “unprecedented ways” since 2008, the U.N. says, and its political scientists are 95 percent certain that Americans are responsible.

That's better.

The Earth has changed in “unprecedented ways” since 1950 . . . scientists are 95 percent certain that humans are responsible. Yet the planet has largely stopped warming over the past 15 years . . . the U.N.’s climate group could not explain why the mercury has stopped rising.

This is unprecedented. It's the first time in history that global temperatures have increased at an alarming rate, like a hockey stick, without rising.

Because ignoring data is scientific!

As Rush said today, they should be thrilled about this good news. It looks like the earth’s temperature is responding to all the measures taken, which should make them relieved and proud they forced action. Unless, of course, it’s not about the earth, but all about control and money.

That HUGE nuclear explosion out in space called the SUN is responsible...even if it expands a fraction - will result in sending out more heat - thus warming everything in it’s path...I wonder if there are monitoring systems in place that illustrate that occurring...if they are - the Al Gore would ignore the data...can’t blame the Sun for political agenda not passing...

These “scientists” are bought and paid for. They are an embarrassment to the scientific method, science and scientists. Someone should take their obscure, worthless dissertations and beat them with them.

In many cases Ph.D. means “piled higher and deeper”.

They can’t explain “why”?

Maybe it’s because they never explained anything in the first place. I contend that the IPCC is responsible for Global Warming. End them now!

The only thing that would be unprecedented would be if nothing changed. Everything in the universe is in a constant state of flux. Everything 'changes'. With respect to atmospheric temperatures, there are only two possible avenues of change, that is, either up or down. It is crazy to believe that atmospheric temperatures wouldn't change over a given time period. Also, the way you measure atmospheric temperature changes over time. With better techniques, you get 'better' measurement. The implication is that old methodologies were 'imperfect' and therefore not readily comparable to new readings. Basing public policy on changes in temperature over a few decades strikes me as being the height of folly.

And the huge change upward in temperature since the last ice age? The one that covered most of Europe with ice?
No cars, no coal-fired plants, no home heating with oil, no planes, no boats.
And what was the source of the heat that warmed the planet to its current level?

****************************

Dinosaurs. Really, REALLY big Dinosaurs!! Can you IMAGINE the size of a TyRex dump? And what about the gas? OMG can you IMAGINE the METHANE in a Tyronnasaurus fart?

We are all damn lucky there was no such thing as hard boiled eggs and saurkraut back then.

You don’t need facts or data when the Three Global Warming Amigos are involved (Mann, Jones and Hansen),

Here in SW Ohio, we were once covered by a 2-mile thick glacier until it melted back to the Arctic.

What was the source of heat then? (rhetorical)

Where’s your globull warming messiah, now? (apologies to EG Robinson)

There are still those even today who emit as much noxious fumes, intestinal swamp gas as any flatulent horde of dinosaurs ever could. The Kenyan’s fudge-packed k*yster immediately comes to mind.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are trying to craft a believable story about how the dinosaurs had SUV’s that were crudely made and ran on coal and that's why it was even hotter back then. That way they could “prove” that coal really is evil!

Not to mention the open parts of the Earth that let Gore's “millions of degrees” out from beneath the surface of the Earth.

LOL - I had forgotten about OwlGore’s “millions of degrees” comment.

What a stupid kook who made hundreds of millions on a scam that common sense debunked.

As Rush says, if the warmists were smart, they’d claim credit for the turnaround instead of arguing with the data.
