Romney warns threat to shut down government not ‘effective’

Mitt Romney on Friday said the Republican threat to shut down the government in an attempt to defund ObamaCare isn’t an “effective” strategy.

"We're more effective tactically not to use a shutdown of some kind to pursue the ... anti-Obamacare objective,” Romney said in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper. “I don't think that will be as effective.”

"I think there's a better way of getting rid of ObamaCare — my own view — and that is, one, delaying it by at least a year,” Romney said. “That was Senator (Joe) Manchin's idea, the Democrats' idea.”.......

Republican Leadership Needs to Watch Braveheart

The heart of the matter:

It is really an ethical matter. The DemonRATs are using lies and deception. They are trying to use the same playbook they used against Newt Gingrich back in 1995/96 when they shut down the government for 28 days. In that day the compromise--a balanced budget over seven years, tax cuts, and changes in mandatory spending programs such as Medicare--worked to Clinton's advantage.

In this case, Obama wants no compromise. The playbook has a script change. And, as Boehner, who was the No. 4 Republican in the House leadership during the Clinton shutdown should know, Obama is vulnerable. America knows that Obamacare is wrong. It is actually a question of right vs wrong. A shutdown in this case will be on Obama; not the Republicans. The Republicans have Constitutional mandate to put what is judicious in the budget.

Obama is sounding like the cry babe he is. The Republicans are the Ground Control. They are saying that the budget with Obamacare is a plane that won't fly. As much as Obama from the cockpit will cry, "Get this plane off the ground!", he is sounding more and more like a cry baby. Ground Control must take the bad part out. That plane won't fly.

The longer we delay ObamaCare, the longer it looks like the current system isn't working. A one year delay might help some businesses, but you need to plan more than a year ahead to keep a business floating. I found this story upsetting:

During his stand on the Senate floor, Sen Cruz said 1,500,000 had signed up.

This morning, just shy of 1,900,000 have now signed up.

In 2 1/2 days when the clock at the site linked below runs out, there will be 2,000,000 + signed up.

What this means is that the Republican cowards are afraid if they actually do something that means something before the 2014 election, they might lose some seats.
