Gov't Shutdown Blamed on 'Cruzites' - 'Anarchist, Radical Libertarians'

Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) has blamed the government shutdown on politicians like Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), calling them “Cruzites.”

DeFazio took the House floor Tuesday afternoon and offered up his definition of a “Cruzite”.

“Shutting down the government –pretty radical. But we are really dealing here with for short –Cruzites, or I guess I would call them - they’re sort of anarchist, radical, libertarians who don’t believe in government,” DeFazio said.

“They don’t believe in evolution they believe in devolution – devolve all the duties to the states,” DeFazio continued. “Dissolve the Union essentially. Go to some loose federalism and we’ll reach some ideal point somehow."

DeFazio Opposes Republican Demand To Shut Down the Federal Government - October 1, 2013

“The Tea Party conservatives are holding the federal government hostage because they don’t have the votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act,” said DeFazio. “There are many laws I don’t agree with, but I work to amend and improve them, not bring the entire government to a standstill.”

“I am happy to work with moderate and conservative republicans to break the Tea Party grip on Congress. Their radical politics begin with a fundamental opposition to the federal government, which makes it impossible for them to effectively govern. Most Republicans I know still believe the federal government is necessary. I support a clean spending bill that keeps the government open and if that bill was given a vote on the House floor, it would pass today with bipartisan support.”

“This government shutdown will deny countless essential government services to Americans, send hundreds of thousands of federal employees home without pay, and further erode the reputation of the U.S. government.”

“As damaging as a federal government shutdown will be, the Tea Party republicans are also threatening to block an increase to the country’s debt ceiling, which is expected to be reached in the coming weeks. The failure of the United States to pay its bills would quickly shred any confidence in the U.S. bond market. Interest rates will skyrocket harming American pocketbooks, the federal budget, and send our economy into a tailspin. It is no wonder that only 10% of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing today. We must stop the hostage taking before the Tea Party does more economic damage to our nation.”

And the apparatchiks invent another false term attempting to demonize. Very reminiscent of “Trotskyite”, even though Cruz is not a lefty.

Wait a minute. So anarchists do not believe in evolution ? All libertarians do not believe in evolution ? These people have no idea what they are even saying.

If a clean bill repealed Obamacare, it would pass with bipartisan support.

Per the Constitution, the government only gets to do things on which there is wide agreement. Funding Obamacare is not a subject on which there is wide agreement.

Shut it down, and start up only those parts on which there is wide agreement.

Aww.. is Ted Cruz more articulate than Obama?

Let’s drag out the party name callers.

I am sure they will make a cogent argument.

And so it came to pass, in the land of sin and corruption, that Sen Cruz and the Cruzites had all of the Elitistsees undergarments twisted into tight contortions.

Wasn’t it Cruz that uttered that famous line; “I will not negotiate”?

Oh, wait, no that was El-presidente. Sorry.

““The Tea Party conservatives are holding the federal government hostage because they don’t have the votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act.”

But we will. And I remain guilty as charged! I am a Tea Party Patriot who relishes any wrench that can be thrown in the works to stop/slow/delay/defund or otherwise thwart this garbage of a law the Democrats have foisted upon the nation.

God bless Ted Cruz and Mike Lee and Rand Paul and Sarah Palin and Dennis Miller and Mark Levin and everyone else who has been a voice of warning the past several years. They have all been relentless trying to sound the warning!!!

Here it is at our doorstep and damn few are reaching for it. I for one will have nothing to do with it.

I am not sure picking a fight with Cruz is wise. They are going to elevate him. He is the most worthy adversary possible.

Cruz will be a real test to see of our future national drift can be reversed. He is a very smart, likable, well spoken conservative. Fearless. A Latino too. If he can’t conquer the media/leftist attacks. It may be impossible to overcome.
