If only 1,000 employees out of 16,000 are essential, fire the other 15,000. Let ‘em find work in the private sector and save the taxpayer money.

Seriously. How ridiculous.

93% is a lowball number.

There are two basic categories:

1) Waste, fraud, and abuse
2) Essential workers

Government should be cut by 50%, as a start. And next year we can do that again.

How many people where you work are “non-essential”?

If they aren’t essential, fire them!

Downsize government. This going on a few weeks will show everyone we don’t need to give half of our income and live as tax slaves to a bloated system that provides us with little benefit.

Other than national defense, we don’t need the feds to be involved with anything.

And even that they are blowing.

Which begs the obvious question. Why the hell are we ever paying for ANY non-essential government employees?

If shutting down the government means sending the EPA home for a while, then I’m in favor of letting this shutdown go for as long as it wants.

“Over 93% of EPA Employees Considered ‘Non-Essential’”

That seems a little low to me...

I’d say at least 93 percent of all Federal employees (and state employees too) are nonessential.

Way too low an estimate.

State governments have their own environmental regulatory agencies. 100% of EPA is redundant and nonessential.

The Entire EPA is Nonessential. The Republicans should have defunded that years ago but they refuse to.That’s why we are having to deal with all of this climate control BS. and gasoline that more expensive than it should be.

Congress Needs to Abolish the EPA.

The EEOC and Department of Education is 100% non-essential. They function as affirmative action hiring halls.
