We saw one of those stupid pool lifts for the first time recently, asking each other, WTF is that thing?

And indeed, no one was using it, at a busy hotel in Hawaii.

I remember a time when our local representatives used to mail us questionnaires about current issues so they would know how to vote. Have not seen one in quite a few years.

We saw one of those stupid pool lifts for the first time recently, asking each other, WTF is that thing?

Because the lifts are so expensive and so large, hotels and motels usually install them in pools, not jacuzzis, which are being filled in with dirt and turned into gardens. The ability to relax in a motel jacuzzi is one more little pleasure that the nanny staters are taking away.
