Yes, they must be convinced that the media will convince the public that the Republicans are solely to blame for all of this.

Pat Buchanan was on Greta last night and had statistics on the media stories--of 30 stories, none blamed the Democrats for the shutdown. A poll this morning had 44% blaming the Republicans and 17% blaming both sides equally, so the Rats obviously think this will work to their advantage.
