A man who was critically injured when he poured gasoline over his body and set himself on fire on the Mall on Friday has died of his injuries, according to D.C. police.
The man was airlifted to MedStar Washington Hospital Medical Center, where he died about 9 p.m. Friday, said Officer Araz Alali, a D.C. police spokesman.
The man could not immediately be identified because his burns were so severe. Medical personnel will try to determine who he was using DNA analysis, Alali said.

The authorities know who he is. He brought a video camera, put it on a tripod and filmed himself torching himself. They’re just waiting to identify him until they can scrub his twitter and facebook pages.
And, he will be any right wing extremist they want him to be.
He was holding a note explaining the whole thing... but the note was on paper, so that didn't work out so well. Obama voter.
He FILMED himself??? Seriously??? Why aren’t there other pics. of him....EVERYONE has a cell phone camera and there had to be a lot of people around.

Maybe they’re waiting to notify his family.
More proof that nothing good ever comes from pouring gasoline on yourself and setting yourself on fire.
He filmed himself. And others caught the BBQ on cell phone video. One of the bystanders who put him out complained that others were filming him rather than helping.
Father I pray for the peace of this tortured man’s soul.
He stayed warm for the rest of his life.
How could I forget?!
