Why are we reading about this on a UK website?

I did a search on the victim's name, and I only see reports in US blogs, and local news sites.

I didn't see it reported in any of the kneepad media sites. I wonder why?

Because the US media could not publicize the incident until it had been officially ruled “not a hate crime”.

Because there are a lot of stories US papers will not cover at all, and most of the rest they cover badly. I believe the Daily Mail has been in the top five in US newspaper website traffic for sometime, and has been # 1 in some time periods.
