Lower the standards, add a big dose of PC/litigation then mix in flag officers that want to get ahead by jogging into shape, not killing the enemy but protecting their ROE in order to get their chit and move up the butt licking ladder to a nice retirement and double dip into "consultancy".
Just need a nice little war to get rid of the dead wood. I figure the first division size conflict and open water casualties with ships and carriers sunk or destroyed should just about get rid of all the ones in the service that are looking for just a paycheck.

My son was directed to not even consider joining the Corps or any military organization after what I saw happened with the prosecution of warriors with BS ROE. The lawyers and quislings are more important than closing and destroying every living enemy that time and ammo allows. Our immediate family had 7 uncles that were in the armed forces, numerous cousins and grandfather in the USMC.... but I'll be bent over and punked before I let my son fight and die with all the BS going on. That's exactly what they wanted to do... destroy the military by getting heterosexual Christians out and making sure lesbians, fags and butt licking lawyers/politicians rise to the officer ranks.
