U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent is among 14 House Republicans who have publicly said they would vote for a “clean” continuing resolution—not tied to defunding Obamacare—and he says there are plenty more.

Dent, appearing Monday on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” said that members have told him privately they would vote for a “clean CR” if it comes up for a vote.

A total of 217 representatives are needed to pass the resolution. Other reports show 20 or more Republicans promising to vote for a clean continuing resolution. …

If they really want to capitulate to Obama & Reid, all they have to do is get 20 or so GOP Reps to sign a discharge petition to rubber-stamp Reid's agenda.

All of these "priavte assurances" whispered to lefty media add up to nothing until then.

I’m glad these Republican supporters of Obamacare are outing themselves.

There are always cowards in our ranks. Dent sure sounds like one. Hope Frank Wolf holds strong. He’s a good guy but he’s been around for a long time. Lots of Bonehead pressure on him for sure.

For those who cave, remember, the election is only a year away, and the unemployment office is a lot closer.

"I've voted to delay it, to repeal it, to defund it, to fricassee it, but as long as you have a Senate controlled by Harry Reid and a president named Barack Obama, that's not going to happen," Dent said. "So, at this point we have to take what we can get."

IOW Dent is saying, to hell with the millions of people who have been and who will be hurt financially due to the ACA.
To hell with the millions of people who will be hurt physically because the ACA simply cannot work.
To hell with the nation incurring billions of more debt due to the fabricated accounting in the scoring of the ACA

Just as long as the media stop calling him nasty names and he can still go to the cocktail parties, he'll vote FOR the "clean" CR.

As Robert Zimmerman once said, "People seldom do what's right. They do what's convenient, then repent"

I have a ‘clean CR’ I’d love to give these guys....

What kind of world do they live in if they can’t see that Obama and Obamacare are going to destroy America?

Very true but remember when BO and Murtha stood on the same stage in Western PA and smiled and laughed while telling the cheering throngs they were going to shut down ALL coal mining etc.....
You would have thought in that part of the country they would have been lucky to ‘get out of town safely’, BUT, instead, they both won by an overwhelming majority.....

Go Figure....

One thing I’ll never understand about American politics: why no one seem to be able to be kicked out of the Republican Party. Oh, wait... David Duke did.

Dent has no regard for that. He wants it to go the way of the Monroe Doctrine.

Murtha’s dead and almost forgotten. Died a fat, lonely turncoat. Very satisfying.

Lots of stupid, now unemployed people in western Pennsylvania.

Maybe a little less food, less heat, less energy and more insurance bills will wake them up. If not, let them rot!

PS: I love Pennsylvania. Lived in Phila. at school for 4 years and have in-laws who helped settle the state. What a shame that it has been run by Democrats for so many years.

commander zero did not win coal country in PA. He only won 8 counties in the state but there was enough voter fraud to do it. Only won 2 counties west of Harrisburg.

Send him an e-mail, I just did. All you have to do is make sure that the city is Allentown, PA and the ZIP is 18104 so he thinks you are a constituent. Already got his “canned” response to the effect that “he takes all correspondence seriously.” I hope so, because I was questioning the location of his spine among other things.
