My thoughts exactly. I think the way things are supposed to work is something like this:
Cloud of dust
Cloud of dust
Cloud of dust
Cloud of dust contracting
Cloud of dust contracting
Cloud of dust contracting
Planet!
And they say that last step happened 12 million years ago. Probably on a Tuesday. I'm sure how they can make that determination.

When pressed on the precision of his answer, he said that when he was hired 3 years ago, they told him the bones were 4 million years old.
